    I can testify that in three years I’ve never seen Mississippi that lively 😉

      It was a major transportation artery in those days of no automobiles or airplanes and few trains. It still has a lot of barge traffic, and an occasional tourist steamboat, but you wouldn’t see many three-masted sailing ships.
