I expect it’s readily understandable that a student or researcher playing tennis when this Hamas rocket hit so close at the Weizmann Institute in Rehovat might not sleep so well from now on.
But, for the divesting Presbyterians and Methodists in the house, try meditating on that big chunk of metal in the foreground and imagine it landing on your Palestinian-lovin’ head. Maybe that will help you appreciate the Israeli bombing campaign.
Much better in my view than risking IDF lives to clean out the rat’s nest.
This is a new experience for central Israel (Rehovat is about 33 miles from Gaza, roughly 3 minutes by rocket) thanks to the increased range of the munitions supplied Hamas by Iran, Lurch’s and Wormtongue’s pretend partner in nuclear peace.
UPDATE: As usual, Washington looks ridiculous as it lectures Israelis with the pretense that both sides are at fault. We know Obamalot has no honor. Have the feds no brains at all anymore?

I think they gotta go in, Dick. Otherwise, too much blowback (no pun intended) from killing “civilians” with air strikes, artillery, whatever. They are gonna have collateral casualties, but you know…que sera, sera.
We both know there aren’t any civilians in Gaza. They’re fellow combatants and they deserve what they get. I do sympathize with the pre-adolescent children. But they have always had to follow what their parents chose to do, wherever they lived. At some point Hamas will stop launching rockets and a ceasefire will ensue. Or at least it always has before. But now that Hamas has the means to threaten Ben Gurion Airport, they can hold the economy hostage, and so there has to be more than retaliation as usual.
I agree on the going in and I think they are going to, and soon. It’s pretty obvious no one’s listening or caring what Obama and Kerry have to say, except The WP and NYT.
Navy commandos have already gone in from a ship in the Med to attack a rocket facility threatening Ben Gurion and Tel Aviv.

No word yet on what they accomplished. Hopefully the IDF will continue to do piecemeal strikes like that rather than charge in with tanks, which just invites soldier casualties.
