Watching the first video of the smoking Twin Towers in the TV room with my wife in the kitchen feeding our 1 and 1/2 year old early-rising son. Later us driving to a pre-planned vacation at Port Aransas, one of the few cars on the road, but seeing American flags flying from rural home after rural home. For miles. No falling man this year, unless you need it.

    I was at work on THE day. Office mate (my work wife) told me when I came back from the lab to the office to work up some data. Most everyone gathered around a TV set in the lunch area. I was giving some hard stares at our Muslim employees. Who refused to meet my eyes…
