Let grandma die

That’s what socialized, nationalized, government-payor medicine/health care always comes down to: saving money by refusing to spend it on folks past their prime. It’s the part the idealists never talk about. They focus on the young, not the old. Never have, never will. Forget grandma. She’s "too" old.

  1. That’s very true: I have had ample opportunity during the last few years to see the marked indifference in the hospitals when the patient is above a certain age. Sad, but I ‘m not sure that this has to do only with the socialized health care. Knowing a few doctors, I tend to believe it’s something in their oath, maybe an unwritten part…

    Obviously, everyone reaches the point where intervention no longer makes sense to anyone, including the patient. But, like most Americans, I loathe the idea of putting bureaucrats in the business of forcing the issue (for their own budget reasons) before the point is naturally reached.
