Worst political class in American history

I’ll buy that. And I especially agree with the truth of this:

“The American people are less prejudiced, more globally aware and more willing to meet other cultures and societies halfway than ever before. Minorities today are better protected in law and more fairly treated by the public than ever in our history.

“No previous generation has been as determined to give women a fair chance in life, or to attack the foul legacy of racism. The American people have never been as religiously tolerant as they are today, as concerned about the environment, or more willing to make sacrifices around the world to promote the peace and well being of humanity as a whole.”

All of which, by contrast, just shows how ill-equipped Obamalot and the other race-card-playing dimwits of our political class are to lead.

Democrat crooks

No surprise here:

“Of the 204 new Obamacare waivers President Barack Obama’s administration approved in April, 38 are for fancy eateries, hip nightclubs and decadent hotels in House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s Northern California district.”

Next step: find out how many of their owners contribute to her election campaigns.

Gender apartheid in Mecca

Bernie at Planck’s Constant scores again in his crusade (heh) against the Islamic political ideology. (Don’t miss the comments.)

You know, the “religion” that makes you violent and stupid.

He also included this snap of the KFC in Mecca (where they worship the black meteorite) which practices gender apartheid to the extent of ordering food.

It’s hard to leave Texas

D.G. Meyers, the online editor of Commentary Magazine, who once taught English lit at Texas A&M, but now lives and works in Ohio:

“My four kids are Texans. For twenty years I was an interloper in Texas—an Orthodox Jew who lived without benefit of barbecue. I’ve only been gone nine months now, and I miss the hell out of the place. None of my exes live in Texas, but I left my heart there.”

His A Commonplace Blog is a great stop for new (and old) book advice.

Finally, some rain

Not a lot of rain, but some. Brilliant lightning display last night, across the hills northwest of town. Mostly horizontal flashes, only a few sky-to-ground. The rain only lasted a short while, but more is promised today, tonight and tomorrow. What we really need is a good, old-fashioned, frog-strangling flood. Which, after all, is the way most Texas droughts end.

So wave your flag

Cool song from Aish dot com. Video here. Happy 63rd, Israel!

Fear $5 gas? Write Obamalot’s EPA

The EPA has shut down Shell’s forty billion investment in drilling for oil in Alaska over air quality emissions from an ice breaker. This is not ANWR. It is a bid to increase the supply of gas and oil in this country, not somewhere else where it has to be bought at high prices. Which Obamalot seems to prefer.
