Bevo’s little ruckus

Well he is bigger than Georgia’s little mutt. And he does have long pointy horns.

But otherwise Bevo was corralled by the wranglers who travel with him and no one was hurt in the little ruckus prior to the Texas beat down. Not even the mutt who the fake news contended was “almost gored.” Pretty far from almost, actually.

UPDATE:  A photographer for the daily claims he was “scratched.”

Der Faker Spiegel

How could the fact-checkers have missed Der Spiegel’s fake news? About a small town in Minnesota with the stereotypical name of Fergus Falls?

Easy, when fake news that fits prejudices is what editors desire. Many a time they’ll come out of a news meeting with their bosses and say to a reporter: “This is the story I want.”

And if you’re already a star, because you invariably find the story they want, nobody’s going to nitpick you. Ain’t that right Claas Relotius?

Until Fergus Falls, the little, Trump-supporting (62.4 percent in 2016) Minnesota town you faked news about (with a phony, pistol-toting city administrator who’d supposedly never been laid), fights back.

In the pre-Internet days, Fergus Falls would never see a German news story. Them days are long gone.

UPDATE:  Add Theft to the misdeeds of Relotius:  “On Saturday night, the magazine announced in one of the many articles documenting Mr. Relotius’s misdeeds that the editors would be filing a criminal complaint against him after it emerged that he had set up a private donation drive ostensibly to help two Syrian orphans that he had profiled. According to Der Spiegel, only one of the two orphans exists, and the aid money went to the reporter’s private bank account.”

Migrant invaders: Moms, kids window-dressing

“To hear the news report it, the migrant caravan is just a spontaneous uprising of women and children fleeing Honduran gangs…

“What’s lost is just how hard, hard, left the organizers of what has become this humanitarian disaster are. Even the liberation-theology types are getting concerned. The caravan agenda is a hard-left, pro-Chavista one, and drawing the fringiest leftwing groups. To its organizers on the ground…it’s a by-any-means-necessary political mission. A look at the caravan organizers and their allies shows that their real aim is to confront the U.S. The moms-and-kids are window dressing.”

Our invaders are Latin commies, pure and simple.

“This is amazing stuff, completely ignored by the mainstream media and available only in the Spanish-language press. And these people are at the heart of the caravan roiling both the U.S. and Mexico, creating a humanitarian disaster in the true Marxist tradition. My question: Why are they completely off the U.S. press radar?”

Because the U.S. press is increasingly composed of low-paid millennials who were taught in college to be sympathetic to the collective instead of the individual?

Fake News is the enemy of the people

“To my knowledge, no one has claimed that Russia tampered with vote tallies. I am not aware of any plausible theory on which a foreign power could tamper with vote tallies. To say that Russia tampered with vote tallies [to get Trump elected] is as credible as asserting that the moon is made of green cheese.

“And yet, two-thirds of Democrats say it is either ‘definitely true’ (31%) or ‘probably true’ (36%) that Russia tampered with vote tallies. Women are especially gullible; 48%, across all party lines, have fallen for this fake news. Sadly, 70% of blacks have bought it hook, line and sinker. The Northeast is the country’s most ignorant region, apparently: 47% of Northeasterners have fallen for the hoax.”

Dear Diary…

Dear Diary… I not only got attacked by an intern trying to take my microphone away but my White House press pass was revoked. They said it was only suspended, but I know better/CNN correspondent Jim Acosta.

Oh, happy day! Please don’t give it back no matter what.

UPDATE:  Astoundingly, a fed judge Trump appointed has ordered the temporary reinstatement of Acosta’s press pass while litigation proceeds. Once again, the Deep State extends to the judiciary.

Gab CEO responds

Gab CEO Andrew Torba responds on NPR to the censorship of his site and its 800,000 users (of which I am one) by the Silicon Valley oligarchy. Here’s the full interview of 16 plus minutes which NPR is very unlikely to use in full.

He makes valid points: Gab had like 4 minutes from an ambiguous post Bowers made about “going in” until he murdered the synagogue congregants (I see no reason to call him a suspect); Bowers also had a presence on Facebook and on Twitter but they’ve not been called “a hate megaphone” of “far-right extremists” nor taken down and banned for it; Gab is working with law enforcement to help prosecute Bowers, not stalling them like the big social media platforms have done in the past.

Torba, who has a connection to Austin (according to a business profile on Bloomberg), says he’s now receiving death threats from the usual suspects. He makes another interesting point: that it’s only been since Trump won the presidency that conservatives on platforms like Twitter and Facebook have been censored, which led to the creation of Gab.

UPDATE:  Gab expects to be back online by the weekend, three days from now.

Hint: The “bombs” were harmless

“The Ricin to Mattis was not harmless. The bullets at Scalise were not harmless. The punches on Paul were not harmless. The HUNDREDS of rocks thrown at Trump supporters the last 2.5 years were not harmless. The switchblade knife on House GOP candidate Rudy Peters was not harmless.”

Republicans all. Only the Dims get harmless “bombs” and the stamps on the packages weren’t even canceled. Then they and their lapdog news media howl. October surprise, anyone?

UPDATE: “They’re trying to get noticed,’ Rush Limbaugh says. ‘The Clintons desperately need to be noticed all the time, and Obama is trying to recapture some glory, trying to show everybody he can still move the needle.'”
