Better known, increasingly, as the Dictator’s Club: "…the world’s most pretentious, self-serving and corrupt organization…" A one-year-old plea (worth rereading) to take care of Iran’s nuclear reactor because it’s quite clear that the UN will never do a thing about it. Well?

MORE: Not surprisingly, the club wants to take away your right to defend yourself. Afterall, how can a dictator be assured of perpetual reign if his victims have guns in their homes? But Fred Thompson, for one, is fighting back to preserve the Second Amendment.

To Die in Jerusalem

This HBO documentary, which I haven’t seen, but remember the murder it commemorates very well, shows just how sick the Palestinians really are. Rachel had to die because Ayat, indoctrinated with hate from childhood, needed Jewish blood to please her mad god and her morally-degenerate society. No better example than this of why Islam is not peace, and our State Department’s rush to create a new terrorist state is insane.

UPDATE: Fears that Ehud Olmert, Israel’s weakest prime minister in decades, will give away the farm.

I hope Treppenwitz doesn’t mind me borrowing his Emu-feathered hat, but it’s just so perfect. His report of the Light Horse and their Australian and New Zealand troops, and the return of their descendents to the pivotal battlefield of their ancestors is inspiring, as well. Go read about one of the last great cavalry charges: eight hundred horsemen across six thousand yards of stony plain into massed Turkish artillery, ninety years ago today. You won’t be sorry you took the time.

Solomon’s temple

Even as the Arabs have sought to destroy evidence of the First Temple with a backhoe, the first artifacts of Solomon’s creation have been recovered–though not, sadly, in their proper archeological sequence. It’s like going through the trash of a particularly uncivilized family and finding discarded gems. It underlines the secular nature of the Israeli government that they would permit such destruction. More on the Nazi connection to the Muslim Brotherhood and its anti-Semitic agenda, found today in the Hamas charter, from the Volokh Conspiracy:

"The Brotherhood’s campaign used not only Nazi-like patterns of action and slogans but also German funding. As the historian Brynjar Lia recounts in his monograph on the Brotherhood, ‘Documents seized in the flat of Wilhelm Stellbogen, the Director of the German News Agency affiliated to the German Legation in Cairo, show that prior to October 1939 the Muslim Brothers received subsidies from this organization. Stellbogen was instrumental in transferring these funds to the Brothers…coordinated by Hajj Amin al-Husseini and some of his Palestinian contacts in Cairo.’"

Tomato response

I’m well behind the times on this one, but one thing or another kept me from getting it posted until now. It’s still worth it–the proportionate Israeli (civilian) response to the rockets of Hamas:

"The group used a projectile-launcher built by Yahav Michaeli – a stunts and pyrotechnics expert – to lob organic eggs and vegetables towards Beit Hanoun."

Tomatoes, corn, etc. I’m still of the opinion they should get really humiliating and launch old shoes at the Palestinian bullyboys, but am told that would merely damage the vegetable cannon. Eggs and vegetables make more sense than Condi’s recent effort to appease the Saudis by establishing a new terrorist state.
