Just like at Columbine and Parkland, Uvalde cops and state troopers waited outside Robb Elementary for nearly an hour while the killing was going on. Milling around. While parents frantically urged them to go in, but they wouldn’t. Some of the parents were arrested. It took a Border Patrol unit (some reports say just one BP officer) to go in and kill the killer. Disgraceful. Utterly shameful.

AND: One commenter at Fox News: “We’ve had guns in our culture for a very long time and never had these issues. About 40 years ago, tons of people in my area in had rifles and shotguns during hunting season. We never had any problems. The problem in this country is moral decay and a serious lack of leadership and common sense, not guns.”
AND+: And, of course, the teachers and staff were forbidden by law from carrying. Easy pickins for Mr. Killer. Way to go!
The latest mass shooting, in gun-controlled Sacramento, California. Lefties are already blaming the NRA, which is silly, but to be expected. What more laws can they pass before they realize that criminals don’t obey laws.

UPDATE: Still six dead (three men and three women) but wounded now up to eighteen. Getting to be a return to the wild west, the country is.
In a bar shooting in downtown Austin. Suspect, a black man with dreadlocks, is still at large. Witnesses say he fired at random into a crowd but Police Chief Joseph Chacon says details are unclear at this time. In one video a cop can be seen giving CPR to a woman in red high heels, who is on her back in the street. Later, in another video, two cops are seen carrying her to their squad car to take her to a hospital.

UPDATE: Turns out there’s a second suspect, and both have been caught. One is a juvenile, under age 17, and the other is 17 and so would be tried as an adult. The 17-year-old is identified as Jeremiah Roshaun Leland James Tabb. Also one of the critically wounded has died.

I started liking a .22 LR for self-defense after training with an auto one. So much easier to hit the target where you want the round to go than even with a .38, much less a high-recoil .45. Only real problem is the rimfire ammo misfiring. So maybe I need a .22 revolver for ease of resolving a misfire. What do you know, I may even be part of a trend!
