Muckdogs still rolling

Mr. B. got three hits and tagged a runner out at third as the Muckdogs beat the Express, 17-10. Last game is Tuesday, then the tournament begins, which could bring the dogs up against the two teams that have beaten them in their 10-2 season.

Muckdogs win again

The Muckdogs beat the Diamond Jaxx 19 to 14 today, to notch their ninth win in eleven games. Mr. B. got three hits, one of them an RBI. Two more games on the season, Saturday and Tuesday. Then the tournament.

Muckdogs recover

Mr. Boy increased his RBI total by two, as the Muckdogs beat the Sidewinders 16 to 13. The dogs have got an 8-2 season now, with the games coming at two or more a week. Next one is Thursday.

Muckdogs fall

Mr. Boy’s little league team took its second loss in eight games today, falling 13 to 12 to the Thunder. Mr. B., however, continued his hitting streak with three, each of them an RBI. He himself was stranded on third all three times. He was bummed at the loss, but the first snowcone of the season helped.

Happy Birthday!

Today is Eva Bol’s birthday. She’s a constant among my rare readers, and the wife of OCS classmate Joe Bol, who recently retired. Eva likes the Mr. Boy category best, but she also bought a copy of my book "Leaving The Alamo." Not saying how old Eva is today. Shall we just say that she’s over 30?

Dumbledore and Gandalf

Mr. Boy and I have decided, having finished the Harry Potter books the same week as we saw the third installment of the Lord of the Rings movie, that Dumbledore, like Gandalf, will probably return to life more powerful than before–in the seventh book in the series due out this summer. Indeed, Mr. B. points out a similarity between Frodo and Harry. They both are marked, Harry with the forehead thunderbolt, and Frodo with the shoulder wound from the Nazgul. Both ache when the enemy is near.

Muckdogs still roll on

Another win for the Muckdogs, beating the Rockhounds 29-12. Mr. B. had two good hits and two good defensive plays in right field, one of them an outstanding save of what could have been a Rockhound home run. So now we wait to see where the Muckdogs stand in the rankings, having dethroned No. 1.
