Classless Notre Dame

Damn cheaters. Not content with beating the Horns, 17-0 at the half, they had to cheat ’em out of a field goal. Classless m’f**kers.

Twice their classless head coach called a last-few-seconds timeout—from the sidelines where the Horns on the field couldn’t see him—seconds before the Horns snapped the ball for a field goal try. Both times the ball went through the uprights. But they were no good because of the timeout calls. The last time, when the cheaters had no more timeouts to call in the last few seconds, the kicker missed.

They’re called the Fighting Irish. When 95 percent of their team is African American. Not an Irishman in the bunch. What a sham. And they’re cheaters, too!

UPDATE:  ND, whose classless coach Brian Kelly may be the only real Irishman on the field, won 38-3. Texas looked like 2014: a mediocre defense, a porous offensive line and a quarterback who couldn’t connect with his receivers, 7/22, even when they could get open. And 3-yard running backs just ain’t gonna cut it. Charlie Strong has served up another cream-puff team. Stinkeroo!

MORE:  The daily’s Kirk Bohl’s might not agree with everything I wrote here about ND’s Kelly, but he did call Kelly’s timeout calls “very rude” and added “I just hate the rule that allows coaches to call a timeout just nanoseconds before the ball is snapped. I’d alter the rule and force coaches to ask for a timeout before the center grabs the ball. Just patently unfair to kickers.” No kidding.

Banning superheroes

In the education bureaucracy’s never-ending Marxist class struggle against political INcorrectness, some school district somewhere (alas these pseudo journalists have not bothered to learn where) has banned superhero lunchboxes and apparel in the name of conquering violence—against all reason.

“If you know anything about superheroes, the underlying morality is pretty much everything. Supervillains use their powers for evil ends. Superheroes use theirs to protect the vulnerable and uphold the good. Teaching kids that there’s no difference between the two is the very opposite of moral education.”

Ah, but that’s the point. Moral education is devisive. Moral education is subjective. We can’t have evil people going around feeling inferior to so-called good people. This whole distinction between good and evil is a mere social construct imposed by white male elites on the very marrow of our fragile, multicultural society. And it must be condemned by the right-er-left-thinking.

So ban Wonder Women, Thor and the Hulk. Ban them, I say! For the greater good.

Go get ’em, Ted

Our own Ted Cruz lays the blame for the ambush killing of the Texas deputy where it belongs: on our incompetent president and his one-sided racial policies and incendiary racial remarks.

The Democrat operatives of the alphabet media, meanwhile, jumped on the deputy’s boss, the Harris County sheriff, for alleged “insensitive  statements.”  The most biased among them, MSNBC, ran the ugliest picture of Ted anyone around here has ever seen.

Gov. Abbott ordered Texas flags to half-staff in honor of the white deputy, Darren Goforth, who was shot in the back 15 times, apparently by a black man who has been arrested. As near as I can tell via Google, the president has not done the same with U.S. flags, which is not a surprise. He had to be pressured to do it for the Chattanooga military recruiters who were slain by a jihadi.

On Monday, however, Mrs. Charm and I saw several lowered American flags at businesses along U.S. 290 in Harris County as we returned to Austin from Houston. Little ad-hoc decision-making there, apparently.

Nevertheless, according to CNN, President Obama made a condolence call Monday to Goforth’s widow. Obama said he told Kathleen Goforth that he would continue to “highlight the uncommon bravery that police officers show in our communities every single day. They put their lives on the line for our safety.

“Targeting police officers is completely unacceptable — an affront to civilized society.”

I don’t remember any previous highlighting of uncommon bravery, but maybe I’m having a senior moment.

UPDATE:  Everyone needs to back off. Now.

Total Regulation

That’s what our political and media elite aspire to, seen recently in putting some child lemonade stands out of business and now assembling for an attack on personal trainers who don’t toe the federal government’s rent-seeking, crony-capitalist line.

The only good thing about it is that the federal dumbasses haven’t got the personnel to enforce their total regs. The bad thing is they will do it selectively and swoop down on whomever they do have time and personnel to regulate. It could be you. Or me.

If you don’t hate Washington, D.C., by the time “total regulation” comes into being, there’s something wrong with you. Or you’re a pol, a fed or a butt-sucking journalist.

Baseball’s thought police

Watch what you say on ESPN about history when it comes to Islamists. Don’t dare reveal the historical truth that they were aligned with the Nazis, sent thousands of Muslim recruits to the SS, and thereby helped murder Jews.

“I could see if [Curt] Schilling were told by an executive, ‘Hey, just stick to baseball, OK?’ But what was ‘completely unacceptable’ and ‘in no way represents our company’s perspective’ was not only historically true, Schilling under-tweeted the truth. Islamists and Nazis were teammates!”

Shilling has been suspended. They’re everywhere, they’re everywhere. Who? The thought police of course. Land of the free? Forget it. That’s over.

“Mainstream” news media ignores 20,000 marchers

Democrat news media, actually, and they despise Glenn Beck who organized the “All Lives Matter” multi-racial march through the streets of Birmingham, Alabama.

But more than 20,000 people? Well now we see the extent to which they manipulate the news. Try it. Google Birmingham, Beck and march and see what you get. If your result is like mine you’ll only get Alabama news sources, Fox affiliates at that, and a few conservative websites and blogs. Thank goodness for the Internet.

Are you still watching CNN (Chicken Noodle News), cBS, and the other Democrat-biased alphabets? For goodness sakes, people. Why?

How to improve policing

Want to stop all the police killings and (apparently) retaliatory killings of police? The Instapundit’s Glenn Reynolds has a solution. Even if it’s unlikely to be taken.

“(1) abolish official immunity; (2) require insurance for all police; (3) give people a choice of who polices their neighborhoods. That won’t happen, though, because it’s bad for public employee unions and it doesn’t make for appealing slogans designed to drive black [Democrat] voter turnout in November of 2016.”

Repealing the drug war or, at least, decriminalizing marijuana, would help. Also getting rid of SWAT teams. But both are entrenched now and few pols are brave enough to be take them on. They might lose their chance to keep on stealing.

UPDATE:  The Harris County (Houston) deputy slain (at first link above) was killed by a black man who has now been arrested. As Instapundit says: HOW MANY MORE WILL DIE BECAUSE OF OBAMA’S RACIALLY CHARGED RHETORIC? First the black Virginia killer. Now this Texas one.
