Barry’s reality vs his fantasy

If pols like Barry weren’t so busy stealing (and catering to their hysterical base) they might have time to come up with realistic solutions to massacres of defenseless school children.

They can pass all the gun laws they want, nothing will change. I’m sure they won’t be giving up their guns, or stop arming their security to the teeth. Probably a good idea. They certainly aren’t getting more popular.

Rice, the latest distraction

“Rice wasn’t making life-and-death decisions on Sept. 11, 2012, when the U.S. compound in the Libyan city of Benghazi came under attack; President Obama was. Rice, therefore, is unable to answer the all-important question about what order President Obama issued upon hearing that U.S. diplomats in Benghazi were under fire. She can’t look America in the eye and answer whether the U.S. military was ordered not to rescue Americans fighting for their lives.”

First the Petraeus distraction. Now the Rice one. When are we going to find out what Barry knew, when he knew it and what he did then? Ever?

Build, build, build those new homes

I’m still not sure just what the Pallys thought they would accomplish by getting the dictator’s club to give them a “state” in name only. Got their flag run up the pole out front, anyhow. But I do understand the Knesset’s decision to retaliate by cancelling the 10-month “peace process” freeze on construction of 3,000 new homes for Jews in Jerusalem and Samaria.

“Counter productive,” fumed Barry’s administration. Oh, boo-hoo. Hard cheese, I say. It’s about time Israel stopped worrying about the Pally backers and got down to business. The Pallys don’t care about peace (Abu Mazen never agreed to talk peace even once during the freeze) and they never will. They should all saddle up and ride east across the river to live in Jordan, since the Muslim Brotherhood likely will be taking over there in the spring. This new construction may help encourage their migration. As it should.

UPDATE: The “two-state solution” and the “peace process” have always been shams concocted for diplomatic purposes.  Their Western creators have always known very well that the Pallys don’t care about either one. The home building might be the last opportunity to make them real, though my preference would be for them to migrate east.

Why isn’t this guy dead yet?

I mean really. Can’t win wars, can’t name a jihadi event on one of their own bases for what it is, can’t try a murdering scum without tying themselves in knots. Tell me again. Why do we have a military?

Why The Palestinians Will Never Win

“But I do know that if Palestinians moved to nonviolence and undertook a smart campaign to improve their image here, they’d turn things around on a dime.”

Do tell. But they won’t. They can’t. Anger, threat and blowing up discos is all they know. Not to mention rocketing nursery schools.

Get them off the international dole, now, and maybe… Naw.

Why most Americans back Israel

I’ve tried to explain to Israeli friends why it’s not just some American Jews and most fundamentalist American Christians, but a whopping majority of Americans whose religion is far less formal (or even nonexistent) who back Israel unequivocally.

Walter Russell Mead does a much better job of it.

“….when Israel brings the big guns and fast planes against Gaza’s popguns and low tech missiles, a great many Americans see nothing but common sense at work. These Americans aren’t mad about ‘disproportionate’ Israeli violence in Gaza because they don’t really accept the concept of proportionality in war. They think that if you have jus ad bellum [right to fight], and rocket strikes from Gaza are definitely that, you get something close to a blank check when it comes to jus in bello [justice in war].

“If anything, rather than weakening American sympathy for Israel, Israel’s response in Gaza (and the global criticism that surrounds it) is likely to strengthen the bonds of respect and esteem that many Americans feel for Israelis. Far from seeing Israel’s use of overwhelming force against limited provocation as harsh or immoral, many Americans see it as courageous and wise. It strengthens the sense that in a wacky world where a lot of foreigners are hard to understand, the Israelis are honest, competent and reliable friends — good people to have on your side in a tight spot.”

Which is why I believe that when Americans learn that Barry is threatening to withdrawn military support from Israel unless Israel does what he says, Democrat politicians who don’t immediately turn on him will have a very hard time getting re-elected.

Our double-talkin’, Muslim-lovin’ prez

JoshuaPundit claims inside information (probably Israeli politico sources) on what Barry was saying out the other side of his mouth while the one side was publically supporting Israel’s defensive operations against Hamas:

“According to a couple of my notorious lil’ birdies who are very much in a position to know, the Israelis fully intended to go into Gaza and eradicate Hamas. A country like Israel doesn’t call up that many reserves and affect its economy unless they were serious about the matter.

“But then the Obama Administration intervened.

“They were perfectly happy for Israel to go in to Gaza and take out Hamas, but insisted that they then turn Gaza over to the Palestinian Authority. This was supposed to strengthen PA President Mahmoud Abbas as ‘Palestine’s savior’ . As as a kicker, President Obama insisted that Israel immediately declare a Palestinian State in Gaza and most of Judea and Samaria, including areas currently under Israeli sovereignty from which the Jewish residents would then be removed. These were also to be turned over to Abbas.

“If the Israelis were unwilling to have the IDF do Mahmoud Abbas’ dirty work for him and then give up large areas populated by Jews, then the Obama Administration told the Israelis the U.S. would not back an IDF ground assault in Gaza.”

I doubt we can expect our pathetic Democrat news media to follow this up, or present any equally-believable scenario. So far they haven’t bothered to note that Barry is now negotiating with terrorists, if only as a silent partner. Despite laws to the contrary he has also (since July) allowed Hamas and other Jihadi backers to raise money for weapons in the U.S.

So we’ll take JP’s angle  for now. It makes as much sense as anything else we could expect our Muslim-lovin’ prez to do. Some have suggested he’s probably embarrassed that his Egyptian interlocutor Morsi has now revealed himself as a dictator. But I doubt it. Barry himself hasn’t been at all  scrupulous in following the U.S. Constitution.
