Travis County has now joined Austin city in “ordering” us residents to stay home from midnight tonight until April 13. To try to slow the spread of the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) Virus.

We can go to the grocery, the doctor, do outdoor exercise, and etc “that contribute to the health of the public” but not, apparently, go to work. That should effectively kill many small businesses, which will not “contribute to the health of the public” employed by them.

President Trump has suggested (not ordered) a return to work by Easter, a week later than which is the 13th, to save the economy. Not to mention the livelihoods of so many people. Small business carries half of America’s employment.

“In Wuhan, where the virus first emerged, the whole population theoretically was at risk of becoming infected, but only 3% were.

“The Diamond Princess cruise ship represented the worst-case scenario in terms of disease spread, as the close confines of the ship offered optimal conditions for the virus to be passed among those aboard. The population density aboard the ship was the equivalent of trying to cram the whole Israeli population into an area 30 kilometers square. In addition, the ship had a central air conditioning and heating system, and communal dining rooms.

“’Those are extremely comfortable conditions for the virus and still, only 20% were infected. It is a lot, but pretty similar to the infection rate of the common flu,’ Levitt said. Based on those figures, his conclusion was that most people are simply naturally immune.”

Austin city government is adding to the Wuhan China virus panic by ordering all “non-essential” businesses to close until May 1. Retailers can’t afford to do it, especially not restaurants and bars. Be lots of unemployment.

Trump and the feds only recommend. The city council orders.

How are the little tyrants—supposedly non-partisan but mostly good lefty Dimocrats—going to enforce their ordinance? They don’t have enough police to begin with. Will they hire enforcers with truncheons?

We have to hand to the state the power to shutter businesses, lock people in their homes and reorganize society as they see fit. The price of flattening the curve will be a never-ending war on civil life by a thoroughly corrupt ruling class. So no, it is not just the flu bro. It is not about the stock market or the economy either. It is about what comes after the flu decades after it is gone.”

We’re fortunate to have Trump as president, then, because he’s far less likely to want business continually hampered by government, much less civil life. He removes regulations, he doesn’t increase them. Biden and his ilk, however, would do just that and massively, and raise taxes to boot.
