The remodel next door…

…has been very loud, considering they were ripping up the carpet for hard wood and remodeling the kitchen. Turned out to be also cutting the tile off the fireplace surround and bashing in some drywall to…? Electric drills and sanders sound like they’re, well, next door. Thin walls we have. I keep waiting for one to come through our wall. While my promised painters still aren’t here.

This from an RN on Twitter, seems like sound advice. Don’t know that I need it, but you never know and I will be seventy-six next week—albeit with no underlying illnesses:

“Things you should *actually* buy ahead of time (Erm, not sure what the obsession with toilet paper is?): Kleenex, Acetaminophen (Tylenol) in 350 mg tablets, Ibuprofen (Advil) in 200 mg tablets, Mucinex, Robitussin or DayQuil/NyQuil, whatever your cough medicine of choice is.”

And for self-treatment advice:

“For symptom management, use the meds I mentioned. For a fever over 101, alternate Tylenol and Advil so you’re taking a dose of one or the other every 3 hours. Use both cough suppressants and expectorants (most cough meds have both). Drink a ton, hydrate hydrate. Rest lots.”

No ER visit unless none of this works.

Supposedly, it goes down today. I’ll believe it when it happens. It’s been ten days, with a neurotic carpenter and a young, not very responsible replacement.

UPDATE: Seen hide nor hair of our replacement by 3:00. Told contratctor I want a replacement for the replacement. He’s for bringing back the neurotic tomorrow. Sigh.

You gotta hunt for the virus good news since the Mediacrats are all about gloom and doom in hopes of destroying the Trump Economy. Americans be damned. One excellent source to start with is the White House’s West Wing Reads.

“Vice President Mike Pence, head of the Administration’s Coronavirus Task Force, announced yesterday that private health insurers have agreed to waive co-pays for Coronavirus testing and treatment. ‘The vice president said testing will be available at LabCorp and Quest Diagnostic locations and 4 million additional test kits will be sent out by the end of the week,’ Fred Lucas reports for The Daily Signal.”

Mr. Boy and his lady love, Aggies both, Ubered to the airport before dawn this morning for their Spring Break trip to New York City—epicenter (maybe) of the Corona Virus.

Who cares? They’re young, healthy and exuberant. And they saved up for it. Gonna take an AirBNB in Queens and see the sights, especially art galleries and museums. And probably do a little clubbing. Or a lot. They return on Sunday from their whirlwind, four-day tour.

UPDATE:  They returned early, sobered by the empty streets, and closed museums. Were glad to get home.
