“I think that if people really saw abortion for what it is, I think that more people would be against it. I think one of the reasons that abortion continues to escalate in this country, I think one of the reasons that so many people are protesting against the overturning of Roe v. Wade, is because you don’t see the victim of abortion. You don’t see this child being dismembered in its mother’s womb. You don’t see the body parts stacked on top of each other. I think if people could actually see the barbarity of abortion, if they could see how terrible abortion is, more people would be against it.

Hillary Swank

I’m so out-of-touch with Hollyweird that I altogether missed this actor until I saw snippets of her film The Resident over Bar’s shoulder while passing through the living room. And actually watched The Homesman, a strange western which I more or less enjoyed. I see she’s won two academy awards for best actress, for Boys Don’t Cry and Million Dollar Baby.

I’m watching the former, the tale of a girl who would be a man and love as one, though I’ve paused midway through. I can tell from the aimlessness of the characters what’s coming and I don’t really want to see the Swank character hurt, though I know it’s only a movie. More later.

UPDATE: It wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. It was still tough. So sad.
