Rule 5: Kaitlin Marie Bennett

s

Kaitlin Marie Bennett, newly graduated from Kent State University, flaughts the school’s anti-gun policy. And underscores gun rights in the wake of the latest school massacre. She says it’s hypocritical at a school best known for having four Vietnam War protesting students murdered by the government.

That’s what the second amendment is for, in part, protection from the feds.

Metal detectors for schools

Since more gun control is a non-starter after the Santa Fe, Texas, high school massacre, mainly because the shooter wasn’t old enough to possess a gun yet had one anyway, Barbara Ellen’s suggestion is to install metal detectors.

Makes sense to me. Federal funding for metal detectors at schools would be the ticket. It would let the pols put their votes where their mouths are, and do something tangible at the same time. Probably too much, but maybe not.

Arming teachers would be smart but probably too smart for the majority of teachers. More gun restrictions for the law-abiding makes no sense, not that nonsense ever stopped a pol. It’s too late to change the culture. Few movies get made, after all, without a gun as a plot point.

Metal detectors are neutral and workable, if expensive, but federal funding could ease the pain. They’d stop all big knives as well as most guns. Just do it!

Good guy with a gun

The wouldbe school shooter you seldom hear about because his failure goes against the grain of the Mediacrats’ gun control push. In Illinois, of all places, while students in Texas merely die.

Cooling is the new warming

“NASA data show that global temperatures dropped sharply over the past two years. Not that you’d know it, since that wasn’t deemed news. Does that make NASA a global warming denier?”

—-Watts Up With That

Ripped off by CarMax

True, you can get a cheaper used car from CarMax, America’s largest automobile discounter/retailer, at cheaper than usual loan rates. Also true you can get your CarMax used vehicle periodically serviced by CarMax techs.

The bad part is that the CarMax used car may be mechanically shit to begin with and the service techs, at least in Austin, only work at their convenience, not yours. They’re on duty weekdays from 10 a.m. to 6 pm. Sometimes. Generally, they’re only available until 4 pm.

It’s a pitiful after the sale “service.” But CarMax knows that its customers generally are too poor—living paycheck-to-paycheck—to complain too loudly, let alone to sue.

Reprise

Barbara Ellen’s one of the few who’s never seen Game of Thrones. So I’m getting to reprise all 70-plus episodes with her. Fun stuff, and useful before the return of the final season in July.

Blaming Israel

That would be the usual suspects in the diplomatic community and their enablers in the Western news media.

This time for confronting the armed Gaza protesters head-on. The IDF has shot a few, killed a few, of the Hamas-organized idiots who tried to breech the security fence between Gaza and Israel. Boo-hoo. Then there was the outrage over Trump moving our embassy to Jerusalem, the undeniable capital of Israel—no matter who denies it.

“Doing the right thing often has dangerous consequences. You should do it anyway. We did. The president’s move was itself an end, and it stands as a positive one without regard to the inflamed terrorists and terror-kin or the media keen to enable them.

“It would be easy to say they simply want to oppose Trump, but that would grossly understate the degree to which blaming Israel is the first—and often only—reaction of Western media.”

Leftists all. F-’em. F-’em real good.
