Cold Civil War or “just” a divorce?
“Over in Seattle, in the midst of a debate over juvenile justice, a city-council member invoked his ‘Republican friends’ as a symbol of the broad-based agreement that incarceration policies need to change. One of his colleagues, Kshama Sawant, snapped back with the proud declaration that she didn’t have any Republican friends. The crowd cheered.”
Well, you would expect that in Seattle, lefty-city, after all. Or watching CNN, something no sentient being could do for long. So I’m not sure Dennis Prager’s notion of a cold civil war is justified. More like David French in National Review talking of a pending divorce. Either way, though, it’s not a happy future to be foreseen.

Key to longevity: Tobacco & whiskey
Austin’s Richard Overton enjoys “any day spent on this porch smoking cigars” That’s “a pretty good day for the 111-year-old.
“This is where you’ll find the nation’s oldest veteran for 10 hours every day when the weather is nice. His friends call it his ‘stage.’ It’s where Overton sits and thinks about life, his starting in 1906, the same year as the first wireless radio broadcast and a year before the paper towel was invented.”
I interviewed him many years ago, back when he was, oh, in his 80s. He was pitched as a civil rights veteran then. His family sure loves them some ink & air time. And, now, some pixels.

Comey the leaker
Rather astounding that, unprompted, Comey would admit to having leaked to the press details of a private conversation with the president. Moreover that, according to Trump’s personal lawyer, some of those details were classified.
That, to me, is the most (if not the only) salient takeaway of this ballyhoo.
But Comey apparently lied in trying to blame a Trump tweet for his action. As Trump’s lawyer, Marc Kasowitz, put it: “Mr. Comey testified he only leaked the memos in response to a tweet, the public record reveals that The New York Times was quoting these memos the day before the referenced tweet…”
So Comey the poisonous snake perjured himself, not that the pols are likely to call him on it. Great snakes and leakers, all of them, they will be ever so grateful for all the free press attention he drew to them.

Rule 5: Ashley Graham
Even if she has become an occasional political talker (see The View), Ashley remains our fav plus-sized model.
Coyotes moving in
“Henry, a three-year-old miniature poodle, was in a fenced-in backyard when the coyote jumped the fence and grabbed him.” And ate him.
This was near MoPac earlier today, about a block south of Enfield Rd., in West Austin. Which underlines that coyotes aren’t afraid of heavy traffic. S/he would have had to traverse miles of residential streets to get to that location, assuming origination in the relative wild of the Hill Country.
I suppose the city won’t do anything until the coyotes start taking down some of their precious white-tailed deer that roam West and Northwest Austin neighborhoods. The pols love the deer which they refuse to do anything about.

Climate Change is Fake News
If the Gorebot’s championing of it, while maintaining a mansion with a very high electric utility bill and flying in a private jet, wasn’t enough of a clue there’s his prediction of years ago that we would all be drowning by now.
Moreover, there’s the famous scientific consensus. It’s unraveling:
“Last year there were at least 60 peer-reviewed papers published in scientific journals demonstrating that today’s warming isn’t global, unprecedented, or remarkable.
“Just within the last 5 months, 58 more papers and 80 new graphs have been published that continue to undermine the popularized conception of a slowly cooling Earth temperature history followed by a dramatic hockey-stick-shaped uptick, or an especially unusual global-scale warming during modern times.”
Climate change, aka global warming, always has been a leftist schuck and that’s becoming more and more obvious—even as the Mediacrats and Mr. Platitude (Bronco Bama) himself continue to push it.
