James Comey is a poisonous snake

This is the finest analysis of James Comey, “deep-water Swamp Denizen,” that I’ve seen. His corruption in detail by famed scifi author Jerry Pournelle (The Mote In God’s Eye). Including Comey’s jailing of Martha Stewart.

James Comey is a poisonous snake of the highest order… a deep-water Swamp Denizen who has been highly paid to deliberately provide cover for high-level corruption by the Clintons and Obama.  He is has been central to trying to destroy the Trump campaign and then the Trump administration from the start. He is as dirty as they come in DC.  He had highest-level cover (the FBI no less) and was deep into an effort to eliminate Trump.  Trump had to move hard, fast, and at exactly the right time to cut the head off the snake without getting bitten by the snake or being finished by the other swamp denizens.

“Begin by noticing how the President fired Comey when Comey was 3,000 miles away from his office, that Comey had no inkling he was being cut, that all his files, computers, and everything in his office were seized by his boss Sessions and the justice department.  This was not a violation of protocol, it was tactical.

“Notice how Prez Trump compartmentalized the strike and did not inform any of his White House “staff” to prevent leaks.  Notice how he emasculated Comey and the swamp denizens by letting them know in a tweet that the Attorney General got information (surveillance “tapes” from the seizure of Comey’s office) to let Comey and his handlers know that Trump’s DOJ has the goods on them.  This was a brilliant, strategic and totally imperative move at exactly the right time against horrible, evil and corrupt powers infesting our government.”

Read it all. You won’t be sorry you spent the time.

China says testing EM drive in orbit

Science fiction maven Jerry Pournelle says reports of Chinese orbital success with the fuel-free electromagnetic spacecraft drive rank up there with the importance of Sputnik 1 in its day.

Others have their doubts about anything the ChiComs claim and that, despite tentative NASA ground confirmation of the EM drive’s usefulness, it’s any more than a new cold fusion hoax. Stay tuned.

No need to panic over “amnesty”

And probably no need to impeach, either, despite what I said earlier. The Worm’s big amnesty decree was a lot less than advertised, which is typical of him and his administration.

“Mass amnesty would be unfair,” Obama said during the primetime address.

Also unconstitutional. Even his temporary delay of deportations for an unspecified number of illegals will likely be overturned by the courts anyhow. Meanwhile it does little to add to the tax burden of the rest of us. Except in Texas where a proposed lawsuit may take care of our border expenses eventually.

Not all agree: Obama’s Amnesty Order Harms Jobs, Schools, Health and Simple Fairness, Black Activists Say. I’m sure some legal aliens would agree.

Still, I think former Reagan advisor and scifi author Jerry Pournelle has it:

This is not a time to panic. The President has exceeded his authority, but not in a catastrophic way. He has issued a decree that states that it is reversible. Some of his legal people have asserted that he has more powers he hasn’t used yet, but for the moment he has done nothing that he could not have done, tediously, by issuing 5 million pardons….

“Now, we hope, some sense will settle into the Congress and result in some realistic approach to the problem of ten to the seventh [power] illegal aliens unlawfully present within our borders. We would deal with an invading army; surely we can deal with this?”

If they were all armed and belligerent, sure, but for the most part they’re peaceful and hard-working. More so than some black and white citizens, though the asians still put all of us to shame. The only real complaint I have is that old canard about how they’re doing the work Americans won’t do, which is b.s. considering a lot of the work is skilled construction. But if you take that to mean voting Democrat, then it’s a pretty good joke. Until they do it.

I still like Instapundit’s idea: “You know, if one of the GOP big-money donors — I’m looking at you, Sheldon Adelson — is smart, he’ll fund a welcome-wagon operation in swing states. Reach out to these newly-amnestied immigrants, help them get jobs, connect them with social services, offer them American civics education to help integrate, register them Republican. . . .”

Face the inevitable and beat the Dumbos at their own game. Just don’t turn into full-throttle McCain-Romney RINOs, please.

UPDATE:  This makes perfect sense. Which, of course, is why it will be ignored.

MORE:  The pretty-objective law professors of the Volokh Conspiracy, who are no part of the court media, say the Worm’s move was good law and good policy.

Eat your own damn peas

Cut taxes and unneeded spending, ease up on the business regulations which will get unemployment below 9 percent. The  Obamalot “command economy” ain’t workin’.

How did we get a clown like this in the White House—threatening to withhold checks he has no control over unless he gets his high-tax way? He’s Dhimmi Carter and his “malaise” speech all over again. Let’s hope he follows Carter into one-term history. And he might, if this means anything in the long term.

UPDATE:  Call his bluff. If only. They don’t call the Republicans “the stupid party” for nothing.

Fallen Angels

A rollicking bit of anti-warmist fiction that is more science than sci-fi, despite the sci-fi fan characters and events. Course it was published in ’91 (republished in ’02), so it is a little dated in its Global Warming criticism. Still, the thesis is interesting: The Northern Hemisphere has been in an ice age for decades but the ice has been restrained by the pollution and carbon dioxide we’ve been pumping into the atmosphere. So when we stop…

In the novel by Larry Niven, Jerry Pournelle, and Michael Flynn (I do wonder why it took three guys to write it), the pollution has been cleaned up, we are no longer a carbon economy, and the U.S. is becoming a Third World country. Meanwhile, the glaciers have returned, three hundred feet high at their leading edge, and are sliding ever farther south. Blizzards in September are common north of Missouri. If that’s not likely (I hope), the Green Police of the story certainly are. As one character says: "We’re the land of the fee, and the home of the slave." The GP are the Gorebot with a badge. Yipes.
