Super Bowl champ

Good for you, cornerback Aaron Ross, former Texas Longhorn on the 2005 National Championship team’s win in the Rose Bowl, now a Super Bowl champ in his first, rookie season in the National Football League. You started most of the season, even played with a dislocated shoulder against the Cowboys, and were a first-teamer against the Patriots last night. Congratulations.

Inspiring the Giants

Remains to be seen whether it’ll be enough, but Army Iraq veteran LTC Greg Gadson, who played football at West Point, has been an inspiration to the New York Giants. We can expect he’ll be on their sidelines at the Super Bowl later today and remember to look for him.

Thanks to rare regular reader Anna for the link.

UPDATE:  I guess Gadson was good enough, because they won it all in the final minute, 17-14.

Longhorn to the Super Bowl

Not his most glorious AP photo, but it’s nice to see former Longhorn Aaron Ross, of San Antonio, (No. 31) the Giants’ rookie cornerback, get a trip to the Super Bowl in his first year in the pros. Hook Em, Aaron!

Congrats to the Giants

The Cowboys just couldn’t get that last touchdown and lost 21 to 17. I guess QB Tony Romo will now be battered for being distracted by his celebrity girlfriend, although it looked to me like his offensive line failed him when it counted.
