Our good Texas Sen. Ted Cruz apparently has helped Israel get a reversal of the FAA’s travel embargo, which prohibited normal U.S. airline flights to and from Israel. Subsequently, many European airlines followed suit.

Ted called it an “economic boycott” of the Jewish state while we send $47 million to Hamas, well, technically to the UN’s mission to Gaza. You know, the same outfit that, after discovering Hamas rockets stored in its empty schools, simply returned them to the terrorist mob.

“The facts,” Cruz said, “suggest that President Obama has just used a federal regulatory agency to launch an economic boycott on Israel, in order to try to force our ally to comply with his foreign-policy demands…

“Secretary of State John Kerry issued a veiled threat last February when he encouraged [investment] boycotts of Israel and said that absent serious Israeli concessions at the negotiating table, Israel’s economic prosperity was ‘not sustainable’ and ‘illusory.’ [Lurch] unfortunately reprised this theme just this April…”

Cruz said he would use his senator’s privilege to block all Senate confirmations of State Department appointments until he got an explanation for why no similar airline embargoes have been imposed on Afghanistan, Pakistan and Yemen.

The State Department rejected Cruz’s characterization of the ban but didn’t answer his question. Then, a few minutes before midnight Wednesday, the FAA lifted its embargo. Thanks, Ted.

I’m behind the curve on this one. Been a busy boy lately, including trying to adjust Windows 8.1 to something I can work with without being assaulted by new buy-this, buy that b.s. with every click. But I can’t let this one pass us by:

“On the day the House Oversight Committee held Lois Lerner in contempt, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said Congress should impeach Attorney General Eric Holder if he does not indict those like Lerner for their roles in the IRS’s targeting of conservative groups.”

They almost certainly won’t, and Holder won’t for sure. Holder’s as big a crook as Lerner and their boss Wormtongue. Why Holder’s been complaining of racism lately. That’s what the really bad ones always hide behind. But it’s good to see Ted holding their feet to the flames.

While the so-called Conservative Political Action Convention chatted up amnesty for the illegal (mainly) Mexicans who will never vote for the GOP, across the street at the Uninvited Convention, Texas Republican Sen. Ted “Abolish the IRS” Cruz was calling the president a fool on the international stage.

“After calling Iran the greatest national security threat, Cruz said that ‘under no circumstances will the nation of Iran ever be allowed to acquire a nuclear weapon.’ He warned of the catastrophic damage that could be done if Iran exploded a nuclear weapon over America’s atmosphere…

“After saying that ‘no rational person is interested in a shooting war between the United States and Russia,’ Cruz offered a variety of solutions to the brewing overseas conflict, saying America should ‘immediately sign a free trade agreement with Ukraine’ and export liquefied natural gas there, which would create jobs at home and lessen Russia’s ability to use its natural resources as ‘economic blackmail’…

He said Russia should have been expelled from the G8 for its actions in Crimea and Ukraine and the Magnitsky Act should be enforced. He also said that re-installing the anti-missile defense in Eastern Europe that Obama canceled in order to appease Putin and Russia should be another priority.”

Makes more sense than the piddle Barry has done: sending a few aging F-15s to NATO and a lone warship into the Black Sea while needlessly whacking individual Russians with visa restrictions.

“…it’s misleading to accuse Cruz of ignoring Obama and only going after Republicans.  He’s going after Republicans who have failed to fight Obama.

“When I read some of the attacks on Cruz, I wonder if at least some of the anger is the result of his tenacity.  I remember being told, when he was in the midst of his filibuster against Obamacare, that it was going to be damaging to the country and deadly to himself.  He would lose, and that would pretty much end his role as a potential party or national leader.

“He’s still standing, and he was proven right to go all out to try to stop Obamacare.”   —-Michael Ledeen at PJMedia.

Our own Sen. Cruz calls on Attorney General Holder to appoint a special prosecutor to probe the IRS scandal, since neither Holder’s office nor the FBI has bothered to interview any of the victims. Forty-one of them.

Although Holder has no problem going after conservatives D’Souza and McDonnell.

Ted, who wants to abolish the IRS altogether and make paying taxes as easy as filling in a postcard and mailing it in with a check, has had more than enough of the “justice” department’s stonewalling of Congress.

The DD boycotters begin to crater: “We apologize for offending you.”

UPDATE: The DD PC Lynching: “It is also a singular example of how political correctness, via cultural relativism, is used to undermine democracy and freedom of speech and is, at its core, fascistic.” Indeed, a classic example of  Liberal Fascism.

Civil Rights passed thanks to a Republican

President Creep, the Great Divider, is always yammering on and on about the evil Republicans who, supposedly, want every minority American to fail, etc., etc.

Yet his Democrat party clings to 1964, as if the passage of the landmark 1964 Civil Rights Act, the first of its kind, was still in jeopardy—and always because of the perifidious Republicans.

In fact, it was the perfidious Democrats who almost shot down the law that banned segregation in stores (“Whites Only,” etc.) and other “public accommodations” for the first time.

The Act was saved and finally passed thanks to a Republican. Which is why Dr. King remained a Republican right up until his murder.

Just one more inconvenient fact the Democrats—historically the party of slavery, racial and ethnic segregation and the Ku Klux Klan—would like Americans to forget. While their short-sighted, corrupt policies continue to prolong the worst economy in decades. Which is, of course, disproportionately hurting minority Americans.

UPDATE:  But don’t tell MSNBC, which is busy attacking Ted Cruz. Not that I would since I have never watched that particular network, or whatever it is. The old NBC, the Democrat Party operative—whose star coined the phrase “greatest generation” for the homophobic, segregationist, anti-Semitic World War II generation—was bad enough.
