Jury Tampering

Manafort’s jury is undergoing a little old-fashioned arm-twisting.

“Why do you suppose seven news organizations–all liberal, presumably–wanted to know who the jurors are and where they live? They are worried that the jury, having heard the evidence, may not render the ‘right’ verdict, i.e., the one that helps the Democratic Party.

“So they want to know who the jurors are so they can apply pressure on them through mob action, newspaper denunciations, online harassment and so on. This is how today’s Democratic Party operates.”

Scumbags.

UPDATE:  No surprise then that Manafort was found guilty on 8 counts while escaping 10 others. After the establishment media had turned the screws. So much for American justice.

Hogwash

I cheered, literally, when I read that the president had revoked John Brennan’s top secret clearance. It couldn’t happen to a nicer supporter of American communist Gus Hall, as Roger L. Simon of PJMedia put it.

I laughed, out loud, when I read that (Ret) Admiral Bill McRaven of the University of Texas, had condemned the president for the revocation and demanded that his clearance be revoked too—as it should be since he’s no longer on active duty. McRaven may be an admiral but he’s none too bright

As for Brennan’s NYSlimes op-ed charging the president with colluding with the Russians, it is, to coin a phrase, pure hogwash from a master liar. And McRaven’s backing of the liar says UT dodged a bullet when McRaven stepped down last year as chancellor.

UPDATE:  Nobody, particularly the Mediacrats, cared when Bronco scrubbed security clearances with Clapper’s help.

People would rather watch Spongebob

Fake News is really taking it in the shorts, no matter Stelter, Tapper or whiny Acosta.

“CNN’s ace primetime lineup hosts Anderson Cooper and Fredo Cuomo have to be biting their pillows at night being beaten handley by the History Channel which…had 1.06 million viewers in primetime while CNN scored 992,000 average viewers, most of whom were probably stuck at an airport with nothing else to watch. The network didn’t fare much better in the ratings for its daytime programming, finishing in sixth place, lagging far behind Fox News, MSNBC, and Spongebob Squarepants.”

The Alt-Left controls journalism

Ever wonder why the Mediacrats focus so much attention on the alt-right?

Gamergate used to be a debate about the alt-left’s takeover of journalism. Now that the alt-left controls journalism, period, it’s become a national debate about fake news.

“Sarah Jeong’s racism isn’t an isolated incident. It’s a culture that is taking over newsrooms. The complete disregard for facts, the pervasive contempt for the political opposition, the impassioned victimhood, and the ravening hatred poorly disguised as comedy now defines the media.

“And so we don’t talk about the alt-left, because when we talk about the alt-left, we’re talking about the media.”

I cut out Islam, made no jokes (or only benign ones), did not comment on gender…didn’t help. The narrow-mindedness has become extreme. There is no way that my choice of words, the “tone”, could have been a problem. Others actually behave rudely. Most of my comments were on the topic of antisemitism.

I would lie if I said that I don’t find this whole development depressing. How can a culture fall so deeply so fast? Germans are specialists.

And the French are following. According to ZEIT the Supreme court ruled today that the principle of “fraternite” allows people to hide illegal immigrants and break the laws. This is the most ridiculous verdict I have ever heard. It is the abolishment of laws as such and their replacement with gut feelings.

And there is this glib cheering that the article conveyed. The commenters…

Rule 5: Aliss Bonython

Fish Camp

Mr. Boy drove off to College Station this morning to participate in Texas A&M University’s four-day “Fish Camp” for incoming freshmen. As in “fresh fish.”

Originally an invention of the Corps of Cadets when A&M was an all-male military school (officially co-ed in ’63 but not actually until ’74 when women were allowed in the Corps), Fish Camp included some inevitable harassment of the newbies. It was only the prelude to Fish Year.

Mr. B. says it’s not that way now. Camp (in cabins around a lake) is just a chance to learn Aggie traditions while making new friends, with time out for swimming and games. We’ll see.

UPDATE:  Harassment, of a sort, ensued when Mr. B. lost his voice from all the shouting that was required. He was quite hoarse when he came home. But he said he had “a great time” and made several friends.
