Amazon’s Prime Pantry? Maybe Not

I’ve thought occasionally about using Amazon’s Prime Pantry food deliveries. But being just five minutes from an HEB makes it seem rather silly. Andy’s experience shows it could be more than silly:

“By the time it gets way off down here in the Puckerbrush a good half these cans are dented up and that box ‘o’ Pop Tarts looks like somebody been throwing a baseball at it.  Just the way it is I reckon since I never recall receiving one single Prime Pantry box that somethin’ wasn’t boogered up.”

Hmm. This obviously requires some more thought.

The Source of Trump’s Appeal

trumphouston

We hear all the time from the Democrat news media—which I know from more than 35 years professional experience includes most television and newspapers–that Trump is a bigot who is untrained and unrestrained and therefore too loosey-goosey to be president. Then we think of his opponent.

“You probably thought Trump was the bigot in this contest,” writes Scott Adams, creator of the Dilbert cartoon strip, “until Clinton called half of Trump’s supporters a ‘basket of deplorables.’ That’s the point at which observers started to see a pattern. Trump has been consistently supportive of American citizens of all types – with the exception of the press and his political opponents. The main targets of Trump’s rhetoric are the nations that compete against us. In stark contrast, Clinton turned her hate on American citizens. That’s the real kind of hate. Trump is more about keeping America safe and competing effectively in the world. That is literally the job of president.”

Exactly and that’s why he is surging ahead of her, why his rallies are larger and more enthusiastic, and why the recent spate of pipe-bomb and knife attacks will help him win, probably by a landslide.

Winning the war with Islam

“America isn’t weak. So how come we can’t beat the terrorists? Why are we still fighting and dying? We’re not weak. We’re indecisive. The terrorists shock us and play on our sympathies. They disguise themselves, they walk among us and then when they get caught, the media says they’re misunderstood.

“The stronger the terrorists become, the weaker they get. Their greatest strength is weakness. In our society, monsters who claim to be weak, oppressed or misunderstood get away with murder. When they take off their masks and stop pretending to be victims and come out of the closet as oppressors, that is when they become really vulnerable.”

Food for thought on this fifteenth anniversary of 9/11 from Sultan Knish.

Felonia’s audio prompter

The website True Pundit quoted unnamed New York police sources saying Clinton was wearing an “inductive earpiece” during the NBC forum hosted by Matt Lauer. The website described the unit as the kind of tech used by stage actors in need of prompting to recite forgotten lines.”

True or not (and who would put it past crooked Hillary?) this is a laugher. I remember when W was accused of something similar by the usual Democrat suspects. Nice to see the needles turned back on them for a change.

Felonia threatens war on Russia

“As president I will make it clear that the United States will treat cyber attacks just like any other attack. We will be ready with serious political, economic and military responses.”

That’s what Felonia von Pantsuit told the American Legion and few in the lapdog media bothered to report it. They aren’t worried. They’ve never served and never will. No jeopardy for them.

Trump would make a deal. Felonia threw away an ambassador. What are a few thousand young men and women volunteers to her? Not to mention threatened civilian cities. She isn’t just dishonest. She’s downright dangerous.

Why do the Dems hate Drudge?

Here’s why: They may have the majority of big media as their lapdogs. But even big media takes its daily marching orders from the right-wing Drudge. And they aren’t shy about admitting it.

They don’t like it. But they do it. Yes, they are that lazy.

Snoopy’s great adventures

For those who follow the adventures of my Israeli pal Snoopy the Goon and wonder where he’s gotten to the last few days, he’s in the outback of Australia with the Mrs, about 800 km from Brisbane.

“We are in Australia with our daughter, gallivanting in the boonies and photographing birds and other animals. I hope we’ll survive the experience – the regime reminds most of all an army boot camp, the chiefs are really fanatics of bird photography.

“The country is amazing in all respects, wildlife being only one of them. It appears that Australia is a nanny state second to none. A lot of rules, regulations etc. Cigarettes, for instance, are not on display in the places that sell them, the procedure is somewhat furtive, like buying narcotics…

“…and here is another curious item: the tipping in restaurants and other situations is not a done thing here.  I am not a sociologist, but the result is terrible service in the restaurants. At least this is an obvious one. Slow, mix-up with orders, no attention to the timing of the dishes etc. During a breakfast in a similarly upscale eatery one of our group didn’t get his order at all, in spite of the waiter been reminded twice. When our guide went to complain, he was told that the kitchen is ‘very busy’!

“We were told that the waiters’ salaries are good enough so they don’t rely on tips. You can easily deduce the result.”
