Our first third-world state

It’s Mexifornia, of course. Where historian Victor Davis Hanson sees:

“We have the highest income tax rates,” said Hanson of California. “We have the highest gas tax rates. We have among the highest sales tax. Our schools [and] our infrastructure is in the bottom ten percent. I don’t remember one out of every three people being admitted to a hospital suffering from diabetes in California. When I was growing up we didn’t have two or three dialysis clinics in every single little town. We have an epidemic of health problems and yet the money to address that is such that we can’t spend it on infrastructure.”

What happens in California stays in California. Let’s hope.

Vile Jimmy Carter

In a way he’s very sad, a not-very-good one-term prez Mr. Peanut turned nutcase whose anti-Semitism finally got the best of him. Hamas-backer, anti-Israel book writer (over which his advisory group at the Carter Foundation all resigned) and now calling President Trump illegitimate because the Russians interfered with the election.

Only good thing for Jimmah is that he’s fallen to second-place in the worst president sweepstakes, overwhelmed by Baby Barry, a crook and a traitor, giving billions in cash to terrorist-loving Iran.

UPDATE:  Trump says Carter “was a nice man” but a terrible president. Nice man. Was.

Social Justice Judging

“‘Social justice’ is largely about judging people tribally, cartoonishly, and by different and contradictory standards, based on some supposed group identity, which apparently – and conveniently – overrides all else.”

It’s a damn bore. Unless you enjoy being called racist and oppressive.

AG Barr on spying

WILLIAM BARR: Well, I just think it has to be carefully look[ed] at because the use of foreign intelligence capabilities and counterintelligence capabilities against an American political campaign to me is unprecedented and it’s a serious red line that’s been crossed.

JAN CRAWFORD: Did that happen?

WILLIAM BARR: There were counterintelligence activities undertaken against the Trump Campaign. And I’m not saying there was not a basis for it, that it was [il]legitimate, but I want to see what that basis was and make sure it was legitimate.

Sorry libs, there’s no climate crisis

“According to the U.S. Natural Hazard Statistics, in fact, 2018 saw below the 30-year average in deaths not only by tornadoes and hurricanes (way under average) but also from heat, flooding, and lighting. We did experience a slight rise in deaths due to cold.

“Pointing out these sort of things usually elicits the same reaction: Why do you knuckle-dragging troglodytes hate science? Well, because science’s predictive abilities on most things, but especially climate, have been atrocious. But mostly because science is being used as a cudgel to push leftist policy prescriptions without considering economic tradeoffs, societal reality, or morality.”

Not to mention all the people it will impoverish.

The unraveling begins

“On Friday, PJ Media headlined: ‘Report: Declassified Docs Will Show That Samantha Power’s 2016 Unmasking Efforts Were Related to Israel.’”

Power was frantically collecting hundreds of names related to wiretapped conversations about Israeli settlements. She had been fervently backing the Pals.

“This is really extraordinary. Power was not an intelligence official, she was the U.N. Ambassador. Why was she unmasking anyone, let alone making hundreds of such requests? And why would she keep up this feverish pace right up to the moment she departed the White House?”

Bad deals

While Dims prattle on about the Green “New Deal,” they’re conveniently forgetting a UCLA study that found the old New Deal prolonged the Great Depression by almost a decade.

“The downturn of 1937-38 was preceded by large [federally-mandated] wage hikes that pushed wages well above their NIRA levels, following the Supreme Court’s 1937 decision that upheld the constitutionality of the National Labor Relations Act. These wage hikes led to further job loss, particularly in manufacturing…Our research indicates that New Deal labor and industrial policies prolonged the Depression by seven years.”

An enacted Green New Deal is likely to start one. Not that the Dims or their stenographers in the media care, so long as the graft is good.
