One-child by choice

Spengler’s book on the coming world wide population implosion is scary enough: the death of Europe and China and their languages and, surprisingly, the death of Islam as well, as Muslim women stop having more than one or two children.

It is encouraging that he contends that we, here in the land of the fee, are right at replacement (2.1 children) and therefore have nothing to worry about. Ahem. Turns out, according to this fellow, we haven’t been at replacement for two generations, we have adopted the Chinese one-child policy by choice and we are in the same slow boat to China as Europe.

“If you’re under 40, fertility declines will dictate how you navigate old age. If you’re under 10, fertility declines will influence your entire adult life. If we don’t reverse this trend, economic systems will suffer, international affairs will be reordered, and innovation will slow in every sector—except, of course, for healthcare.”

And last year was the worst yet: “In the last year the number of  ‘first’ births dropped to the lowest level ever recorded in America.”

The educated like to claim that, no fear, the Mexicans and other Central and South Americans will just replace the folks of European ancestry here. In fact, their women are contracting the same “disease” white American women have: more choices, more money, fewer children.

It’s tempting to blame the Democrats and their constant waving of the Planned Parenthood Association’s abortion banner. But most of the babies PPA kills are black. The party of the KKK is making its pointy-hat ancestors very proud. Our overall demographic bust, however, is more complicated than abortion, and far less likely to be reversed.

Hebrew bloopers

Time for a break from all this politics. Liat Collins’ Hebrew fails in the Jerusalem Post qualifies as a break. With smiles, no less:

“A colleague thinking out of the box submitted this memory of a woman standing in line at the supermarket, preparing to have her groceries delivered. Since she was worried about them being crushed, she ordered: ‘Ten li od orgazim.’ You can figure out for yourselves what she said (albeit incorrectly). What she meant was “Give me more boxes (argazim).’”

Move the U.N. to Detroit

Capital idea. The U.N., better known as the dictator’s club, would feel right at home in a city even its police describe as a war zone which newcomers should enter at their own risk. Next time the thugs of Iran come calling to speechify and threaten Israelis with nuclear death, they’ll be in their true element. And maybe, just maybe, they won’t get out of town alive.

Clint’s empty chair at the U.N.

This UPI photo (taken of Obozo’s silhouette as he was leaving the U.N. stage after his speech) proves that, obviously, there’s news bias and there’s news bias. It’s not always Blue on Red. Heh.

The horror ahead if Barry is re-elected

Consider the damage President Obama already has done to the Middle East:

His removal of Egypt’s president Mubarak, Israel’s second best friend after Jordan’s monarchy which is now threatened by the Muslim Brotherhood;

His unackowledged complicity in the slaying of Libya’s Qaddafi who, for all his sins, was finally cooperating with the U.S.; and

His betrayal of the thousands of Americans who died or were crippled trying to bring democracy to Iraq, which promptly fell apart after our abrupt withdrawal and awaits Iran’s takeover.

Said Fouad Ajami of Stanford University after the murder of our Libya ambassador:  “Our foreign policy has been altered, as never before, to fit one man’s electoral needs. We hear from the presidential handlers only what they want us to believe about the temper of distant lands. It was only yesterday that our leader, we are told, had solved the riddle of our position in the world.”

Barack Hussein Obama has, in David Goldman’s words “done more to undermine America’s standing in the world than any president in history, and the consequences of his re-election are horrible to imagine.”

Michele Bachmann: “We live in desperate times.”

Yeah, the Democrat media hates her, nitpicks her, ridicules her, etc., etc. Well, I like her. But, then, I also like Palin, another blunt patriot our political elite wishes to muzzle. As Michele says, in this clip from a week ago, “we live in desperate times.” Vote for Obama in November and they will get much more desperate. Give her a listen.

The things that offend Muslims

Besides Christians, Jews, uncovered women and announced homosexuals, that is. A lot more actually.

Now, how many of these will Barry be trying to ban, or at least restrict (to please his Muslim Brotherhood buddies) if he gets a second term?
