Rule 5: Garter belts

And who better to show off these accouterments than our old favorite Betty Brosmer. Do women wear these things any more? A serious shame if not.

Rule 5: Betty Brosmer

I’ve been badmouthing the “greatest generation’s” take on social justice lately. So just to acknowledge that they weren’t only about homophobia, racial and ethnic segregation and anti-Semitism…

Ta-da. Lady B. She of the real hourglass figure. I know, I know. She was one of their children, born in 1935, and so  just ten when the war ended and just 78 today. Still…

Rule 5: Hillary Fisher

You’re going to do a lot of scrolling to see all of this one. I grappled (so to speak) with that problem. To the extent I am able. As one of my rare commenters, Darkwater, says, memory is the second thing that goes as you drop into final approach on the Psalmist’s seventh decade. Indeed. Alas.

Rule 5: Hanneke Cassel

Another great American folk fiddler (and a looker), who was the ’97 U.S. National Scottish Fiddle Champion which is about a type of fiddle music played in the U.S. rather than about Scotland or the fiddlers there.

Rule 5: Lauren Rioux

A versatile fiddler, mainly in the old-time music tradition, with a beautiful singing voice. Lauren’s new album has some pretty tunes and songs, my favorite being the Old Carpenter’s Waltz, an old Cajun melody. A fellow fiddling regular in our pickup dance band soloed it Wednesday night at the end of the evening, and I went hunting for it, found Lauren’s MP3 of it at the link and bought a copy to learn her version by ear.

Rule 5: Pink Bikini

Nevermind the Godzilla gag, this fetching creature is reason enough to post the photo. Pity there’s no name attached, but we can still dream.

Via Simply Jews.

Rule 5: Alizee’s butt

Bernie at Planck’s Constant has updated this hits magnet of mine in the comments there with a link to the original (above) before it was photoshopped to be quite a bit more daring. I actually like this pre-photoshop better, though it is not the best pix of the French pop singer’s fetching face. I like to use my imagination.
