Mueller’s grand jury

From comenter Julian Hill at the WSJ:

“Crooked Mueller–appointed to investigate a crime when no crime has been identified and fatally conflicted due to his relationship with BFF Lyin’Jim (‘I’m Nauseous’) Comey, after recruiting 16 ‘unbiased’ former Clinton bundler/shysters now forges ahead in his illegal, unethical safari into the heart of the swamp as he impanels a D.C. Jury prepared to indict a ham sandwich if nothing more substantial is on offer. The Deep State crooked, dishonest, unethical, murderous, and above all self interested, gears up to oppose, thwart, and delay the work of the duly elected POTUS–illustrating once again their determination to oppose, at every turn, the will of the American people, and if possible effect a silent coup–in this case not so silent…”

Schumer rules out tax cuts

And, because the GOPe is so wimpy, the minority Dems essentially run the Senate. Still…

“With the legislative calendar slipping away, Republicans should appreciate the favor they’ve just been done. As they draft a plan to boost economic growth and provide taxpayer relief, GOP lawmakers now know that the three Democrats who didn’t sign today’s letter—-coincidentally all up for re-election in states Donald Trump won in 2016—-are the only ones interested in negotiating.”

Now we’ll see if the GOPe is interested in negotiating.

The plot to oust Trump

It’s a House bill that so far has two dozen backers, all Dems. It would convene a committee of doctors to present to the full congress a psychiatric evaluation of President Trump in accord with the 25th Amendment—a JFK era amendment.

Maryland Rep. Jamie Raskin, who also teaches constitutional law at American University, has predictably failed to attract any Republicans to his banner.

“But the U.S. Constitution’s 25th Amendment does allow for a majority of the president’s cabinet, or ‘such other body as Congress may by law provide,’ to decide if an Oval Office occupant is unable to carry out his duties – and then to put it to a full congressional vote.”

You want a real civil war in this country, one of snipers and other guerrilla action initially aimed at taking out the political and establishment elite? This is the way to get one. Initially, I say, because wars turn messy fast. Especially guerrilla wars.

Trump could fire them all

Rush Limbaugh has it right:

“He could fire Rosenstein, and he could fire Mueller. There’s nothing stopping him from doing it, nothing legally. He could go to Rosenstein right now. He would be perfectly within his bounds to go to Rosenstein and say, ‘Look, this investigation can’t be wide open for anything. You’ve gotta limit what these people can look for. You’ve gotta limit it to actual felonious crimes. You can’t have them subpoenaing anybody they want financial records, text records, tax records. There has to be a limit.'”

Or else you’re fired. Not that even Limbaugh expects Trump to do it. The wheeler-dealer real estate tycoon has been poisoned by swamp gas and he’s playing the swamp’s game by the swamp’s rules. As Limbaugh says: That’s NOT why he was elected.

He wants them to love him. They ain’t never gonna love him. He either kicks ass or he goes under, glub, glub, glub.

UPDATE:  Interesting details from the WSJ about Mueller’s defiance of President Bush in 2006 in a Comey-like pose of the righteous lawman. And one of his new minions previous run-in with Jared Kushner. All in all, it looks like Trump will be damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t. Not to mention his son-in-law. Demand they resign for conflicts. If they won’t, fire them all.

Move to impeachment begins

More leaks to the WaPo, probably from Comey or a surrogate, which is also insurance against Mueller being fired.

“The special counsel overseeing the investigation into Russia’s role in the 2016 election is interviewing senior intelligence officials as part of a widening probe that now includes an examination of whether President Trump attempted to obstruct justice, officials said….

“The White House now refers all questions about the Russia investigation to Trump’s personal attorney, Marc Kasowitz. ‘The FBI leak of information regarding the president is outrageous, inexcusable and illegal,’ said Mark Corallo, a spokesman for Kasowitz.”

Undoubtedly illegal, but also of longstanding practice in official, establishment D.C. and now a prime weapon against the anti-establishment President Trump. Who will almost certainly be found by a grand jury to have obstructed justice in firing Comey. Since presidents aren’t indicted, impeachment will be next.

UPDATE:  Trump doesn’t need to fire Mueller, says Greg Jarrett of Fox News. He can merely point out the conflict of interest with Comey, the star witness to obstruction, and demand Mueller resign. Staying would violate a DOJ statute ordering investigators with personal ties to witnesses to bow out. Moreover Rosenstein, the Asst. AG who appointed Mueller, can’t be involved in an obstruction investigation because he wrote the memo urging the president to fire Comey. Conflicts all over the place.

Bronco’s payoffs

Those $400,000 speech fees for Bronco Bama? Clearly payoffs from the ruling class for his eight years of doing something we’re not likely to discover.

To the tune, so far, of $100,000 a year.

FDR’s war against the press

“Franklin Delano Roosevelt, revised the media rules in equally profound ways. Like Trump, he feuded with the mainstream media; like Trump, he used a new medium [radio] as a direct pipeline to the people. He also used the government’s machinery to suppress unfavorable coverage, a fate we hope to avoid in the age of Trump.”

“And then there was that time in 1942, when FDR gave a New York Daily News journalist whose reporting he disagreed with a Nazi Iron Cross medal.”

It’s okay when they do it. Especially the principal hero of the modern liberal Dim party.
