He repeated the “very fine people hoax,” blaming Trump for supposedly coddling neo-Nazis.

“As Breitbart News and others, notably cartoonist Scott Adams and political commentator Steve Cortes, have demonstrated for years, President Trump said he condemned the neo-Nazis “totally.“ When Trump used the term “very fine people,“ he was referring explicitly to peaceful protesters on either side of a dispute about the removal of a local confederate statue.

“The transcript of Trump’s remarks is clear: he said that when he referred to “very fine people,” he was talking about peaceful protesters, and “not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists, because they should be condemned totally.”

Damn you, Biden. Someone smashed daughter’s window on the driver’s side, while she was at work, so they could pull the lever that opens the gas tank door. Then they siphoned off most of the gas. $38 worth, thanks to Biden and his Dimocrat Party. As the gas price keeps going higher more of us will suffer this behavior.

So, H.E.B. couldn’t help. That leaves the tax office. Because it is short-staffed, you need an appointment these days. We got one for April 15, the earliest available. Meanwhile we’re vulnerable to be ticketed for out-of-date stickers (the new ones never having arrived). A tax office option is their drive-thru. I went the other morning before 10 a.m. and found it had already been closed, apparently due to being at capacity. I suppose I shall have to try and make its 7:30 a.m. opening. Or, possibly, send our applications for new stickers through the mail with a check. Problems, problems.

UPDATE: Decided to do just that, mail the applications with a check. I’m just not able to drive in the dark of the morning to make the drive-thru’s opening before it fills up and closes. Probably is a bureaucratic reason why it won’t work. But we’ll see.

Tornadoes

Elgin to the east of Austin and Round Rock to the north apparently got the most damage from tornadoes Monday evening. Also Jarrell and Granger to the north and northeast of Round Rock. No fatalities but some injuries and major destruction. Probably have to wait until morning to see/know the full extent.

UPDATE: Nothing much changed with daylight. Still no fatals, but some injuries and destruction.

Big storm forecast

On Monday, the 21st that is. beginning lightly in the morning but getting windier and stormier as the day goes on. Spring is mostly storm time for us, through May, and sometimes extending into the summer. Got a new snaky “sand” bag for the step-daughter to use, if necessary, on her new ground-level apartment’s front door. The concrete surround looks flat to me. with no drainage. And the storage room hollow door a few yards away has a sprung back panel (from sitting in standing water?). We shall see. Better safe than sorry. If it does rain hard enough for the water to pond, we’ll probably lose electricity for a few hours. Which is par here in liberal land.

UPDATE: Light rain most of the day, moderate wind and no electric outages at the Canyon. But half a dozen tornadoes seen on the ground around Central Texas, ones in Elgin to our east and Round Rock to our north caused major damage. No fatalities, minor injuries. The snaky sandbag didn’t get used but is ready for the next time.

Especially when he got to the part about Jan 6 being an attempt (his eyebrows go up) to overthrow our government. The “rioters” were mainly a band of Merry Pranksters. One guy in buffalo horns turned out to be the son of a judge, another put his feet up on Pelosi’s office desk. None brandished, much less fired, a firearm.

Some have spent more than a year in prison awaiting trial, some in solitary. Just like in a totalitarian state. None have been charged with insurrection. That was a Democrat invention.

UPDATE: An OCS classmate, a former prosecutor, says they could have been carrying concealed. Yeah, and they could have been pixies in disguise but probably weren’t. What should we call it? The concealed insurrection?
