But they’re touting the park as the perfect reason to come spend a fall weekend with them (then drive to the park near Vanderpool). Must consult with Mrs. Charm. Sounds nice. If we can make arrangements to park Mr. Boy with a chum for two nights.

burned1It’s been three years since fire (apparently caused by faulty electrical wiring) gutted Comfort’s famed domino parlor. Among other things, it sold ammunition for guns no longer in production. Seems the family owners can’t afford to restore it. Pity, that.

Finally getting around to posting some Comfort, Texas, photos. Had so much fun on our stay there, I didn’t take many, but I liked this limestone cottage on main street. Except for the useless gutters. Either rain here is too light to need them, or heavy enough to overwhelm them.
