Apology Land

What a strange place the USA has become. Everybody is expected to apologize (indeed, the Democrat news media frequently demands it) for whatever they may say in public that isn’t PC or pleasing to some group or another.

Is this multiculturalism in action? Or just a temporary pyschosis?

Or, as PJMedia’s Roger L. Simon says: Does “the demand for the apologies [come] almost exclusively  from the [howling] left — a morally narcissistic group-think culture that relies on shaming others in order to obscure the truth and gain power”?

A pox on all their houses.

Lurch: Iran deal supports terror

Lurch (John Kerry) knows very well the more than $100 billion our Barry Hussein gave Iran as part of his “deal” (not a treaty, oh, no) will finance their aggression against their enemies, including Israel.

He says so in a letter to Congress: “We have no illusion that this behavior will change following implementation of the [Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action– i.e., Obama’s Iran deal.]”

Yet, somehow, Lurch also says the “deal” will bring peace to the region. What an Orwellian view, even for the man who never met a dictator he couldn’t do business with. After all, he and his master already gave billions to Qatar, the chief financier of Hamas.

UPDATE:  And, quell surprise, Ma Barker supports the Iran “deal.” She wants to be Barry III.

Jihad in Garland

I have to say that running a public contest to see who could draw the most infuriating cartoon of Mighty Mo wasn’t all that bright. But, of course, it shouldn’t have drawn gunfire from Muslim nutjobs or their hangers-on.

Best of recovery to the security guard who was shot (he seems to have been released from the hospital already) and condolences to the innocent for whatever lasting stress the wouldbe killers may have caused them.

As for the slain Jihadis, well, they surely got what they deserved. They shouldn’t have messed with Texas.

UPDATE:  The 1st Place tie in the cartoon contest. Heh.

AND:  It’s a bit academic why Elton Simpson, one of the dead Mofos, wasn’t put away in 2010 by the FBI. Fart, Barf & Itch didn’t do a good job. Where have we heard that before. Happily, he’s a dead one now.

MORE:  Simpson’s skipping prison apparently had more to with the judge than the FBI, says Sultan Knish: “Judge Mary H. Murguia, a Clinton appointee who has been bandied about as a possible Obama Supreme Court nominee, chose to believe a claim by his public defender that when he was taped talking about Jihad, it might have meant ‘an internal struggle to maintain faith’, instead of killing non-Muslims.” Liberals are so credulous. They keep the Jihadis laughing up their sleeves.

Barry’s billions for Iran

The Obama administration expects to finish delivering $11.9 billion in cash assets to Iran by the end of June, according to figures released by the State Department.

“That would be the same group of fundamentalist savages who in defiance of international, civilized norms seized our embassy under the feckless Carter administration and have never had to feel the lash since. Barack Hussein Obama: the best friend our Islamic enemies ever had.”

It’s as if FDR gave billions to the Nazis to keep Hitler happy.

Now Barry’s fuming about Bibi’s planned speech to Congress. You have to wonder why. He only gives millions to Israel, and makes up big lies about them.

Why SpaceX will succeed

Never mind the usual snooze media headlines about SpaceX botching, stumbling, or failing to softly land their Falcon 9 first stage last Saturday. What they did “astonishingly right,” as aerospace engineer Rand Simberg puts it, certainly justifies plenty of optimism for next time.

After stage separation about 90 km high, they relit three of the first stage’s nine engines to slow down from about 3,000 mph. After re-entry, three more engines were relit to aim it at the tiny (from so high up) drone ship with its bulls-eye landing platform and four small fins were deployed to help steer it. Slowed down sufficiently, a single engine relight was all that was needed for a soft landing.

“With the exception of the final landing itself, almost everything went according to plan,” Simberg writes. “The vehicle entered intact, flew to the ship, and (apparently literally) hit the deck, because the hydraulic fluid that controlled the fins ran short by 10% of that needed to control and softly land.

“But in so doing, it accomplished another major ‘first,’ not just for a private company, but for any space ship. Previous Falcon flights had demonstrated the ability to enter the stage intact by retrothrusting (as opposed to simply braking against the atmosphere), but this was the first time such a vehicle had not only survived entry, but flown precisely to a pre-designated location, without wings.”

Space X will try again Jan. 29. When they finally succeed, as they almost certainly will, the next step will be to figure out how much it will cost to quickly and reliably, reuse the stage to cut their about $61 million price of a Falcon 9 launch.

Unlike the snooze media, bureaucratic NASA must be green with envy.

The Worm’s 12 biggest accomplishments of 2014

3. Didn’t burn the White House down.

And so forth. The other eleven are in that vein as well.

Hey, you gotta give praise where praise is due.

Stop Ebola in Texas: Wash your hands

“Washing your hands and avoiding occasions of exposure will help you more than all the public assurances in the world. If you suspect infection, do your duty and turn yourself in. Odd word that: duty. But duty is what saved the herd in history; saved the herd in World War 2. The very same duty the Left laughs at and lumps in the same dustbin of history as that 100 year old document that nobody reads any more. And science. Not affirmative action or quota or “committed” science. But science, period. Duty and science, not amulets, voodoo, talk shows, assurances, security theater or muted alarms can stop Ebola.” —Richard Fernandez, PJMedia.

And stay the hell out of Dallas.

UPDATE:  Patient Zero died Oct. 8. Now to wait and see if he infected others. Meanwhile, at the Texas State Fair, even Big Tex has ebola on his “mind.”
