Dr. Obamacare says we should die at 75

Back in March, I reached the Psalmist’s milestone of three score and ten. By Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel’s measure, I should be ready for the grave in about 3.5 years. Or, should I say, the urn—as Mrs. Charm and I have opted for cremation and our (pre-purchased) cemetery plot so specifies.

Dr. Obamacare, as EE has been called for his contribution to that fiasco, says (Democrats always say) he will shuffle off his mortal coil at age 75 and it would be wise for the rest of us to do so as well—by such methods as declining to get flu shots. For the good of the country, you understand, the metaphorical “village” as another Democrat, a shrill harridan brimming with advice she never takes herself, has it.

I’ll believe Dr. O. when he (who is only 58) actually pulls the plug. The Democrat climate warriors, led by Al Bore, are full of advice for others while doing exactly nothing to mitigate supposed “climate change” themselves. Likewise, I suspect, with Dr. Obamacare’s advice. It is for thee and me, not for he.

As for me, I will (as always) put my fate in the metaphorical hands of G-d. Dr. Obamacare, quiet frankly, may go to hell. Whether at 75 or later is out of his hands, unless he plans to suicide. Easy to say, hard to do.

Israel’s most dangerous enemy, indeed

That would be the community organizer-in-chief. Friend to terrorists and anti-Semites worldwide. Master of the idiot Lurch, slanderer of a generation of Vietnam veterans as “baby killers.”

They are now bent on saving Hamas, having recently awarded the terrorists of Gaza a check for at least $47 million—just what Hamas needed. And now they are demanding that Israel immediately and unconditionally cease fire—-backed up by the louts of the Dictator’s Club, aka the United Nations. We can assume they are threatening Bibi with a restriction, if not an outright cancellation, of the usual resupply of expended American arms.

Which, when it gets out, as it surely will, should cost the Democrats the Senate. In the meantime, since together Wormtongue and Lurch have infuriated the Egyptians, whose military hardware also is American, Israel might even even get its resupply from Cairo.

The duplicitous Obama/Wormtongue has a talent for turning things upside down. As commenter MenachemBenYakov says: “Never has a man of lower moral character sat in the Oval Office.”

UPDATE:  So far, Bibi, no doubt bolstered by 87 percent approval of Israeli citizens, is fighting back.

Election fraud in Texas

Not that you would have heard much about it unless you read PJMedia and a few other outlets that take investigative journalist James O’Keefe for more than the “provocateur” the NYTimes calls him.

Provocateur means troublemaker. Trouble for the Democrat party.

“The media in Texas have done their dead-level best to ignore both of Project Veritas’ videos as long as they possibly could. When the media here do cover them, they have tended to downplay the videos’ potential significance. The [supposedly non-partisan] Texas Tribune even interviewed a Democrat election lawyer — but not a Republican one — to defend Battleground Texas’ actions seen in the Veritas video. The prevailing media opinion seems to be that, because leftwing outfits have often criticized Project Veritas, every story that it unearths is worthless or worse.”

Well, most of the reporters and editors in those outfits are leftists themselves, educated in leftist journalism mills elsewhere, who only came to Texas for a job. Their interest in the state is minimal. And, instead of competing with each other, most of the time they echo each other.

Instapundit calls them and most of their colleagues elsewhere “Democratic operatives with bylines.”

Remember when his parents met on the Selma march?

Obozo’s penchant for public lying started early, at least as early as March, 2007, and it’s the best indicator of how lying is his way of life and thus isn’t likely to change now.

LeighB, a commenter at Roger L. Simon’s blog on PJMedia, reminded me:

“When Obama was on the campaign trail, with Caroline and Ted Kennedy sharing the stage, he said his parents first met at the march on Selma. I was shocked. A complete falsehood, easily checked and immediately recognized as historically inaccurate. No one called him on it. Ted knew it was a whopper and barely blinked. ”

Ted-the-Red did his own share of lying, though he was, generally, more careful about it. And some versions of the story have The Groper and the Lizard Queen with him instead of Ted and Caroline. LeighB nevertheless sums it up well:

“Obama lies to distract, to get his way, because he thinks he’s special. He does not think in terms of right and wrong, he just thinks about what he wants and how to get it…”

Which is very characteristic of adolescence, a life stage Obumbles seems never to have left behind. (As also shown when he gave the Lizard Queen the finger during their debates.) So it’s highly unlikely, no matter how far down his poll numbers plunge, that President Clown would (or even could) stop the lying.

The Audacity of Mendacity

What Obumbles said was…

No, what he said was very clear: “If you like your healthcare, you can keep your healthcare. Period.” Said it repeatedly, over and over again, just last year.

Until that lie was shown to be a lie. Now it’s being replaced by a new lie: “Now, if you have or had one of these plans before the Affordable Care Act came into law and you really liked that plan, what we said was you can keep it if it hasn’t changed since the law passed.”

Whatever that means…

This is the clown who supposedly wrote a 2008 campaign book called “The Audacity of Hope.” What he really meant to title the book was “The Audacity of Mendacity” because that is what he’s all about. Just one lie after another.

Meanwhile, his chief apologist, the NYTimes, is contorting itself to explain all this away. The narrative rules! Reality must not intervene. The first black president must not be shown to be a fraud. Even when he does it himself.

Obumbles: all tricks, no treat

PJMedia’s Richard Fernandez does nice summaries sometimes and this one on our suspected-but-highly-unlikely Muslim president is a gem:

“The man has single handedly trashed the entire Arab world. Consider. The Muslim Brotherhood is hunted in Egypt, which is about to starve.. Libya is a Mad Max state. People are killing each other for all they are worth in Syria. Jordan and Lebanon are overrun by refugees. Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states are on the brink. Iraq has slid back into chaos. Afghanistan is due to be handed back to the Taliban. With any luck there will be nuclear war between Iran and Israel.”

Except for that last sentence, of course. Tel Aviv for Tehran is a trade no one needs. But it would be in keeping with this Halloween Horror Story.

I still love my Kindle 2

But like Scott at the Fat Guy, I probably will get a Kindle Paperwhite when the 2 finally bites the dust. Richard Fernandez, as usual with him, has a nice little essay on why he loves his Paperwhite, with only this little proviso:

“The biggest benefit of the readers, I’ve found, is that you can shift between volumes. When the classics get too heavy you can always switch to something more tradesman-like. But perhaps that is properly considered, a disadvantage. The one thing the old timers had on us is they had so little in the way of portable information they were forced to discover drama in nature or find it in their own thoughts. They preferred poetry because verse is compressed; full of suggestion, not exposition.”

I would only add that I have bought more books with the 2 than I ever did in paper. I love the ease of buying, even from on my back in bed, and the dictionary for checking the meanings of words. The Kindle is even searchable! Zounds.
