Sons of ZZ Top

The popular Duck Dynasty sitcom seems pretty off-the-wall to me, with its four scraggly-bearded “stars” and their otherwise Leave It To Beaver suburban homes, wives and children. Not to mention the family prayers. Yes.

Not that I have anything against prayer or redneck shows on the rube, even when the rednecks are Hollyweirdos only pretending to be rednecks—or, in this case, the likely sons and cousins of ZZ Top—but this one is bizarre. It has the spirit of gun-and-knife fanciers while chasing the peculiar ambiance of Seinfeld.

Very strange this 21st century thus far. But I knew that when Obozo got elected president the second time. On principle, I will resist the temptation to watch DD anywhere but at the link above, or keep up with it at this unofficial blog, and then only seldom.

Humor, more or less

Funnyman Jonathan Winters, who breathed his last not long ago at age 87, had a well-known strange sense of humor. None more so than in this mordant one of his several paintings.

Via Phase Line Birnam Wood, who has an exceptionally good Winters obit.

Spiritual wickedness in high places

Who’d a thunk it? The Iron Lady’s granddaughter, Amanda Thatcher, is a native Texan. And she gave a ringing salute to her grandmother at her London funeral.

In the militant words of  the KJV’s Ephesians 6 Aamanda urged her listeners to put on the whole armor of god to battle “the rulers of the darkness” and the “spiritual wickedness in high places.” How timely.

The 19-year-old Amanda apparently attends the University of Richmond, just as my sister who lives in Virginia did years ago. Pity, though. Amanda would be much more at home at Texas A&M.

Benghazi was a coverup. Is there a Boston one?

“So, via an anonymous leak, we are being told that, at a time when Tsarnaev was still in critical condition and unable to speak, investigators interrogated him––just long enough, apparently, to get his assurance that no one else was involved in the plot.

“Having gotten that non-verbal representation, as we are now told by the anonymous spokesman, the administration promptly got Tsarvaev a lawyer and, in effect, told him to shut up….if the Obama administration wants to obstruct the investigation and prevent all of the facts from being known soon, if ever, it is off to an excellent start.”

It’s amazing how hard the secular Left–which has no use for Christianity and barely tolerates Judaism–works to protect Islam.

Sir Winston on the Boston bombing

Sir Winston Churchill? Oh, indeed, if you accept the obvious motivation behind the mass maimings, cripplings, disfigurements and slayings:

“How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries!…The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property—either as a child, a wife, or a concubine—must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men…Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities…But the influence of the religion paralyzes the social development of those who follow it.  No stronger retrograde force exists in the world.”

Now you see why Barry had Churchill’s bust removed from the Oval Office and sent off to the British embassy, though his minions later tried to deny it. It wasn’t just about colonialism. Oh no.

Cockroaches all the way down

Vanderleun’s nominee for most revolting headline of the year to date:

“Boston Bombing Suspects’ Muslim Identity Provides Few Clues To Motivation For Bombing.”

Via the Puffington Host, but it could have been The Boston Globe which is owned by the NYTimes and later published another bit of denial that was very similar.

Can they succeed in obfuscating the obvious religious motivation? Barry’s minions are certainly gonna try. And his Canadian friends, too.

When will they ever learn? The answer is blowing in the wind.

UPDATE:  The numbers speak for themselves. Five Jihadis have reached their targets under King Pinocchio, who chokes on the words terrorist and jihadi. Under Bush the younger, who nevertheless coined the ridiculous phrase “religion of peace”? None.

Rule by Cop in Obama’s America

“….the captive audience in ‘The Cradle of Liberty’ were a compliant bunch. As assault-weapon bearing bands of body-armored, black or camo-clad hulks fanned out through the neighborhoods door-to-dooring, skittish residents were systematically ordered out of or pulled out of their homes (some at gunpoint with hands raised). Some were frisked, or just interviewed and made to wait outside of their homes until authorities gave the all-clear signal.”

There’s a video here, made by a neighbor of one such home. Unbelievable.
