Rule 5: The LeMat revolver

AF-Colt-.25-reverse-side (1)

Beautiful $3,295 working reproduction of the Confederate black-powder favorite LeMat revolver. Originals were hand-made in New Orleans. Part revolver, part shotgun, all sex.

“It was the only percussion revolver of the mid-19th century that rivaled the 1847 Walker Colt for sheer audacity of size and power. A unique looking firearm, the LeMat had a movable hammer that offered the option of firing a massive 9-shot .42 caliber cylinder from the top barrel and a second, lower shotgun barrel chambered for a grapeshot paper cartridge – the coup de grace.”

It was carried by, among others, Rebel cavalryman J.E.B. Stuart and also one of the Rebel officers in my novel Knoxville 1863. Click the pix to biggerize it for better detail.

Rule 5: Girl with Gun

4534534-731x1024

Unidentified high school senior in Broken Bow, Nebraska poses with her hunting rifle and buck antlers for her yearbook picture, a smart new policy in the rural school district which is upsetting the Progs. Ah, fly-over country. I love it!

Wish she’d come down here and shoot a few of the deer we have roaming all over our neighborhood thanks to a recalcitrant city council with a Bambi-complex.

UPDATE:  What’s easy in Nebraska ain’t so much in New York, even in the rural upstate region the anti-gun loonies prevail. It takes arguing with a school board.

Officer Unfriendly now harrassing children

They claim they did it for the children’s safety, bursting unannounced and armed with at least one military automatic rifle (thoughtlessly provided by the Pentagon) into a Florida elementary school for a “drill.”

Some of the kids, understandably, said they feared for their lives. PTSD, anyone? And all because Officer Unfriendly is an idiot who is almost completely out of control. Not even the pols can corral these bozos anymore.

I suppose the kids and their parents can be relieved that none of these so-called police lost control of themselves and opened fire. You know, like they’ve been known to do elsewhere.

UPDATE:  They’re really careful, however, about not harassing star football players.

Just to mix it up a little, here’s an entry from Smits’ 2014 Girls With Guns Calendar.

Wormtongue’s favorite terrorists

No, it’s not ISIS, despite his dithering on a “strategy” to take the head choppers on. When unloading a few tons of napalm on their formations would suffice. Except we might hit one of his (and their) allies, the Free Syrian Army.

Nope, it’s one of those sheikdoms, the kind the Worm likes to bow to. In the case of the Emirate of Qatar, however, he also has passed along to these enablers of Hamas, etc., an $11 billion arms deal.

Who knows where those arms will end up? Like the ones we already give the FSA and, through them, the ISIS head choppers, nowhere good, that’s for sure.

Time to take back the police

Soldiers and police are supposed to be different. … Police look inward. They’re supposed to protect their fellow citizens from criminals, and to maintain order with a minimum of force.

“It’s the difference between Audie Murphy and Andy Griffith. But nowadays, police are looking, and acting, more like soldiers than cops, with bad consequences. And those who suffer the consequences are usually innocent civilians.”

Just as true post-Ferguson as it was eight years ago. Nevermind the race-baiters bottom-feeders Jackson and Sharpton, who’re there just to make their bucks with their usual b.s., the real story is the armored-automatic-rifled-flashbang-grenade-throwing cops who make the whole scene look like 1984. Enough, already.

Remember Michael Brown? Hell, remember Miriam Carey!

UPDATE:  “The Ferguson police must prevent rioting and looting and protect their own safety, though it is reasonable to wonder when law enforcement became a paramilitary operation. The sniper rifles, black armored convoys and waves of tear gas deployed across Ferguson neighborhoods are jarring in a free society.”

MORE: “The buzz phrase in policing today is officer safety. You’ll also hear lots of references to preserving order, and fighting wars, be it on crime, drugs, or terrorism. Those are all concepts that emphasize confrontation. It’s a view that pits the officers as the enforcer, and the public as the entity upon which laws and policies and procedures are to be enforced.”

Ammo resupply to Israel held up

Used to be additional mortar and tank rounds were provided on Israel’s request. Now they, and more Hellfire missiles, require specific review by the Great Divider.

“A top Israeli official said the rift runs [deep]. ‘We’ve been there before with a lot of tension with us and Washington. What we have now, on top of that, is mistrust and a collision of different perspectives on the Middle East,’ the official said. ‘It’s become very personal.'”

“According to US officials cited in the Wall Street Journal report, the Wednesday night phone call between Obama and Netanyahu was ‘particularly combative.'”

Yeah, I’ll bet. Which underscores previous reports (officially denied) of Obamaloot’s imperious “demand” that Bibi halt Israel’s Gaza op.

UPDATE:  “We have to become more reliant on our defense and weapons capabilities and less on the United States, at least so long as this administration is in power. ‘Most pro-Israel administration evah’? You got to be kidding.”

MORE: Of course when he’s caught out, the Worm immediately pleads misunderstanding. Self-reliance would be best, however, since American pols can no longer be trusted to stick in private to policies stated in public. In other words, they’re liars.
