Jamiel’s Law

The killing of the Shaw boy–by all accounts a straight arrow with promise–by an illegal Mexican immigrant gangbanger just out of jail, is very sad. But, hey, L.A. is a "sanctuary city" with a Hispanic mayor and a liberal daily who both promote illegal immigration from Mexico. Undocumented workers, they want us to call them. When they work. Most of them do, here. Taking jobs whites don’t want, they like to say. Bull, I say. But the street beggers here are always black or white. Never Hispanic. Gangs? A few. Nothing like East L.A., of course, but where else is like East L.A.? Calcutta, maybe. But while Austin is not officially a sanctuary city for illegals, that is definitely the political preference. This stuff is getting way out of hand, and, like so many other American trends, the backlash seems to be getting strongest in California. Maybe Shaw’s death will do some good, so to speak. Bless his heart. Cobb, who prefers Mexican national to illegal immigrant (might as well be specific) has a lot more.

UPDATE:  Austin, indeed, is not a sanctuary city in the sense that police jurisdiction over them is limited, but is in the sense that no public services may be denied them based on their illegality.

Mrs. Barry: Pie cutter

She’s no pie producer, that’s for sure. All she and Barry do is cut their pieces out of the big pie. Which is something she ought to be thinking about before she talks about cutting more pieces from more pies. Where’s Barry going to get the pies? Who is he going to force to make them? And how? Yeasty talk.

Not Your Usual Bikes

Seven on a round bike? When two of them are cycling backwards? Sounds–and looks–like fun.

Bet on Kansas

I know, I know. Mighty Memphis. Derrick Rose, CDR, and the streak, etc. All the sportswriters are drooling over Memphis and its up-tempo attack. They figure Kansas for an also ran. But me and some bookies think this is the Big Twelve’s year. So let’s roll with Brandon Rush, Mario Chalmers and the Jayhawks’ shutdown defense.

UPDATE: Like I said. Jayhawks 75, Tigers 68, in OT. Good game, Memphis.

These honored dead

So when did the great racial harmonizer turn into the instigator of the latest demand for racial dialogue? About the time he decided to defend his racist pastor of twenty years who had just been discovered by the MSM. Too bad, Barry. Reconciliation was your biggest attraction. But no sane person wants another interminable palaver with haters. Not after Gettysburg.

Barry: disuniter

The Seablogger awaits Barry’s fevered cultists all waving their little red-and-green books. The irrepressible Ann Coulter mocks B. Hussein Obama more directly, via the words of his own race-obsessed autobio. Whatever. He’s just another failed Dem nominee. Like John Kerry, the "hero."

Recession: who’s fooling who?

The MSM is fooling you. Or trying to. The economy, they’re all saying, is in a tailspin headed for recession. Got to elect a Democrat to save the day. Harrumph. There hasn’t been one negative growth quarter yet, let alone two, which used to be the definition of a recession. Ah, but unemployment has ticked up to 5.1 percent, you say. Or, rather, the MSM, er, wails. Hey, guess what, unemployment was 5.4 percent in 1996 when Bad Bill got re-elected on what the MSM then was calling a soaring economy.

Via Power Line and Works and Days

UPDATE: Well, now. Even the presumptive Republican nominee is getting into the act. Says he doesn’t care what the precise definition is. Oh, good. Let’s just do away with definitions, then.
