Rockin’ Roku

My Valentine’s gift to Mrs. Charm, a Roku XD, was a hit. She likes Masterpiece Theater and similar Brit stuff, but isn’t always available when the local channel decides to run them. Now, with the various streaming video channels the Roku offers, she can choose her own time. One more reason to read Instapundit.

Finally, spring is on the way

Supposed to be highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s all week.Time to start looking for Bluebonnets. The Central Texas winter is finally over and spring is finally on the way. Just another week or so and it will be here en toto.

Chocolate is dandy but baked goods are nice and, er, warm. Happy V Day.

Let’s really Leave It To Beaver

I thought Leave To Beaver was insipid when it was first on television. I was, then, at just the right age to know treacle when I saw it. Later, when it became a nostalgia talking point with media culture watchers, I still wasn’t impressed, though now I felt it politic to conceal my disdain. No more. Comes “Leave It To Beaver: The Complete Series” for a mere $83.99. Fat chance.

The original game of golf

Golf:

” In the original game of golf, the clubs were used against the other players. It was only when the game spread beyond the borders of Scotland that the current refinements were introduced.”

When you snooze, you lose

Happy Birthday, Sarah!

You are still the best hope for Republicans to take back the White House in 2012.

Hated and mocked by the legacy media and the political elite? Of course. But, hey, whatever they pretend now to have believed then, I well remember how they despised (and mocked)  Ronald Reagan in the 1960s and 1970s. The same crew that dumps on Sarah now called him a lightweight actor with dangerous political ideas. Remember Bedtime for Bonzo? To the liberals of the 1980s BfB was Reagan’s signature movie.

Course, to the legacy media, any politician running for president who didn’t go to Harvard or isn’t a liberal has dangerous political ideas. And, ipso facto, is a lightweight only deserving of mockery.

But, come on now, you know that Sarah couldn’t do any worse than the community-organizer-in-chief.
