Blog father in trouble

The Instapundit has lost his USA Today column for one month and his employer, the University of Tennessee school of law, is “investigating” his apparent advocacy of violence in a Tweet concerning the Charlotte riots.

“Run them down,” he wrote in response to news that the rioters were blocking highways, trapping people in their cars, without regard for what that might do. Instapundit Glenn Reynolds, called the blog father for having inspired so many to take up blogging, and his myriad supporters contend his intent was defensive, not aggressive. Maybe so.

But it wasn’t the first time he’s been seen to advocate violence. A little over three weeks ago, he wrote that Venezuelans protesting the dictatorship’s roundup of anti-regime citizens should “have a contingency plan for such arrests, and it should involve killing mid-level security officials and their families.

His thousands, if not millions, of supporters protected him then, too, saying, as one did, “I do understand Glenn’s rage…” As many of them are protecting him now. And it’s highly probable that neither USAToday or UTenn knew about the Venezuela post.

It’s more likely they are strictly reacting to any threat of any kind against BLM, the Democrat- and PC-protected, Ford Foundation-funded agitators who led the protests that turned riotous in Charlotte. And in Ferguson. Riots seem to follow them around.

These are tough times with a lot of frayed tempers. And I have read and appreciated Instapundit for many years. But we should expect professors, probably especially law professors, to act like adults, and not stoop to the level of adolescents who can’t control their anger.

The Thugs of Charlotte

The Charlotte rioters have distinguished themselves by being both more violent and less relevant than even the Ferguson thugs. Not to mention the rioters of Baltimore, Milwaukee, Chicago, and New York. Interestingly, these thugs are supporting what are, in Ferguson’s case indisputably, and in Charlotte’s case so far presumably, bad asses who were killed because they were asking for it from the cops. This is Obama’s America—where criminals are emboldened.

Black rioters, in general, have always distinguished themselves by their trashing and looting of stores. What a politician would call being “off message.” It tends to weaken with the rest of us whatever argument they have. What is unusual about Charlotte is they are not trashing Dollar General in their own blighted neighborhoods but upscale, downtown shops in the heart of the banking district where non-blacks are vulnerable. Thousands of employees have been told not to come to work.

Which probably thrills the thug supporters in the modern, and very undistinguished NAACP, not to mention the anti-Israel Black Lives Matter anarchists—financed, lest we forget, by the leftist Ford Foundation— who are clearly anti-cop and anti-public order. But meanwhile it has reportedly ignited a rush on buying firearms, mostly 12-gauge shotguns and buckshot.

If the Democrats had any sense (I know, I know) they’d be working mightily and highly visibly to restore peace to Charlotte. But whether they do or not, the rioting is going to be a tremendous aid to electing Donald Trump, the law-and-order candidate, to the White House. Thanks, thugs.

Yay Milo, you’re a hoot and a half

Highlights of Breitbart writer/editor Milo’s tour here, full of triggered protesters, including Black Lives Matter, but fortunately enough of him to enjoy his assault on PC, such as: “People for whom being black is their only marketable skill.”

Democrat gestapo still in business

“The IRS is refusing to recant the targeting criteria it used to single out tea party groups for intrusive scrutiny, according to court filings made public [Sept. 7]…

“At least three tea party groups are still awaiting approval from the IRS more than three years after agents publicly admitted they’d asked inappropriate questions and put the groups through unreasonable delays in obtaining tax-exempt status.”

The only solution to this lawlessness is to abolish the IRS. Maybe Trump will do it. We can be sure Felonia won’t. It’s her party’s ideological enforcement arm.

Austin’s dangling car

This town is getting weirder and weirder as the population explodes. More fatal traffic accidents, more murders, more rapes. And now some clown drove off the top deck of a downtown parking garage. Car got hung up in power/telephone wires or it would have fallen about ten stories. Amazing he wasn’t electrocuted when he (somehow) managed to climb out and get back to the garage.

Why Felonia belongs in jail

Michael Barone sums it up rather well in this recent piece in the Washington Examiner, a newspaper that does the journalistic job the WaPo will not.

“According to polls, more than 60 percent of Americans believe Clinton is not honest or trustworthy. The FBI interview notes [released Sept 2] provide further convincing evidence that she is a liar and a cheat. The kid gloves treatment she got from the FBI — no recordings, allowing aide and co-conspirator Cheryl Mills in the interview — confirm the impression, created by the intended-to-be-secret meeting of Bill Clinton and Attorney General Loretta Lynch days before, that the fix was in. So does the fact that Clinton and her aides in court-ordered interviews claimed loss of memory 378 times.”

Sounds like the FBI director and Attorney General should join the Hildabeast in stripes. But, of course, they won’t. Our federal government is sadly corrupt.

Why do the Dems hate Drudge?

Here’s why: They may have the majority of big media as their lapdogs. But even big media takes its daily marching orders from the right-wing Drudge. And they aren’t shy about admitting it.

They don’t like it. But they do it. Yes, they are that lazy.
