Rule 5: Mahsa Tehrani

Ms Tehrani is an Iranian model. I’m not sure, but I think that like most of them she probably lives and works outside the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Did NSA surveillance start with Bush?

In a way, yes. But not in the main way, according to Charlie Martin at PJMedia. Martin, a government intelligence consultant in his day job, says:

“Everything we know about the program under Bush says they needed suspicion about an individual, and then collected information about that individual’s calls only. If they saw a connection, they had to make a separate request for that person’s metadata.

“In the Obama administration program, they just collect all the data from everybody in case they want to look at it later.”

So the American surveillance state really is a Leftist creation. No surprise. Who else tries constantly to control what we buy, say, drive and so forth? Martin’s primer on what the NSA is doing—which is here—is worth a read.

UPDATE:  Meanwhile, Wormtongue’s education bureaucracy is snooping on kindergartners, gathering info about their families, supposedly to target the kiddies (like Amazon or Google) for more effective education (i.e. sales) but which could also be used to punish their parents for political transgressions.

Whatever happened to Officer Friendly?

Huffpo journalist Radley Balko, author of the new book The Warrior Cop, explains:

“Today, police departments—or some of their key enforcement operations—appear to be on a war footing. Many [including the Austin police] dress in commando black, instead of the traditional blue. They own military-grade weapons, armored personnel carriers, helicopters and Humvees. Their training is military. Their approach is military. They are in a war against crime and violence and terror that they argue never ends.”

And we citizens increasingly are afraid of them. With very good reason.

Read all about our new police state here.

UPDATE:  The Barney Fifes have taken over law enforcement and have a lot less respect than Sheriff Andy Taylor did.

Reprise: Or, the dramatic solution

Still a brilliant idea. Too brilliant for our Democrat bureaucracy, however.

“All we need to do is develop a booth that you can step into that will
not X-ray you, but will detonate any explosive device you may have
hidden on or in your body.  The explosion will be contained within the
sealed booth.

“This would be a win-win for everyone.  There would be none of this
crap about racial profiling and the device would eliminate long and
expensive trials.

“This is so simple that it’s brilliant. I can see it now:  you’re in
the airport terminal and you hear a muffled explosion.  Shortly
thereafter an announcement comes over the PA system, ‘Attention,
standby passengers! We now have a seat available on flight number…’”

Can’t argue with that

“In the end the Obama administration is not afraid of whistleblowers like me, Bradley Manning or Thomas Drake. We are stateless, imprisoned, or powerless. No, the Obama administration is afraid of you. It is afraid of an informed, angry public demanding the constitutional government it was promised – and it should be.”

NSA Spy Snowden’s statement on our deceitful president.

UPDATE:  The anti-Morsi Egyptians certainly agree. Their signs are anti-Obama not anti-American. “Obama Supports Terrorism,” reads one. “Obama, your bitch is our dictator,” reads another, possibly referring to his appointed ambssador or Lady Macbeth. Or maybe Morsi himself. All of them work for me. Especially the generic: “Obama, you idiot…” ones.

The Battle Continues

Sudip Bose, friend of a friend, served in Iraq as an Army surgeon. Last time I spoke to him he was trying to get a book published about his experiences. But the book was too positive for the usual suspects of traditional publishing.

Then, Sudip was an ER doc in Midland. He may still be that. But now he’s also author of this interesting Web site, a public speaker and a conduit for efforts to help the American survivors of the Iraq and Afghanistan campaigns, especially the wounded, walking and otherwise. Visit the site, watch his video, and please consider a donation.

Send a map to Jeff Fager

Fager? Oh, he’s the chairman of cBS Snooze and executive producer of their really tedious (when it’s not wildly biased) Sunday segment 60 Minutes.

Is Bethlehem surrounded by Israel’s security wall, making Christ’s birthplace “an open-air prison”? So reported 60 Minutes. But a map clearly shows no wall to the south or east.

Fager, one of the poobahs of disgraced anchorman Dan Rather’s (“fake but accurate”) network, refuses to correct the mistake, however.

So as CAMERA. org says we should all get together and send a map to Fager.

I remember the days when people like Fager had a monopoly on “the truth,” when there was no Internet and so no easy way to rebut their mendacity. I don’t miss those days, but I bet Fager does. I’m sure Dan Rather does. Heh.

UPDATE:  While you’re sending a map to Fager at cBS, send a clue to the other alphabet snooze “shows.” They won’t report facts that interfere with their narrative on climate change.
