Cooling out the mark

If you vote for Barry, then you are the mark that’s been cooled out, sucker.

“From the time it took office, the Obama administration has sought to suppress the very concept of a ‘war on terror’ or the terrorists’ war on us.

“The painful farce of calling the Fort Hood murders ‘workplace violence,’ instead of a terrorist attack in our midst, shows how far the Obama administration would go to downplay the dangers of Islamic extremist terrorism.

“The killing of Osama bin Laden fed the pretense that the terrorism threat had been beaten. But the terrorists’ attack in Libya exposed that fraud — and required another fraud to try to “cool out” the voters until after election day.”

And when it comes to perpetrating fraud, Barry’s your man.

Via a commenter at Neo-Neocon, which also has a good Fox News special report on Benghazi video. While the rest of Barry’s court media joins in “cooling the mark,” Fox is on the case.

UPDATE:  So is the Drudge Report, the sometimes shrill but always influential news source that, if you remember that far back as some of us do, broke the Slick Willie-Monica scandal open when Newsweak was sitting on it.

MORE: Iowahawk proves (once again) that mockery is the best medicine.

Lots of blame to go around on Benghazigate

“Why did the National Security Council watch passively for seven hours while our ambassador and three other Americans died?”

Why, indeed? The Liar President couldn’t have let them die without help from all concerned, including the “workplace violence” (i.e. Fort Hood jihadi massacre) Pentagon. The Joint Chiefs of Staff  should resign, now!

UPDATE:  Fox News and the Christian Science Monitor are on the case. As Instapundit says: Remember, no one died in Watergate.

MORE: From military writer Bing West in National Review: “Fighter jets could have been at Benghazi in an hour; the commandos inside three hours,” Mr. West wrote.

“If the attackers were a mob, as intelligence reported, then an F-18 [Navy fighter jet] in afterburner, roaring like a lion, would unnerve them. This procedure was applied often in the Iraq and Afghanistan [campaigns]. Conversely, if the attackers were terrorists, then the U.S. commandos would eliminate them. But no forces were dispatched from Sigonella [Italy].”

Lyin’ Barry

Now Benghazigate hots up. More lies from our Liar President. Thug.

Can we impeach Obama now? Part III

Ed Klein, author of  The Amateur, a fine takedown of lyin’ Barry, says he was told by a state department insider that the Hildabeast tried to increase security for Ambassador Stevens in Benghazi but, guess who, turned her down.

Can we please impeach this clown now? It’s not like we didn’t already have reasons (and more reasons) to do it. This new reason is just one more brick in the wall.

UPDATE:  Fortunately, according to pol-watcher Noonan (with help from journalist Woodward), Barry showed his real face in the debates and, therefore, he is about to impeach himself.

MORE: Thank G-d for Fox News. While the other news media toadies ignore it, Fox not only picked up Klein’s story but they have another, exclusive one that’s just as damning.

AND MORE:  Finally, support for impeachment, even if it’s only Roger L. Simon, whose support could be expected. Well, hell, it’s a start.

The Bronze Star: The showing-up-for-work-on-time medal

So few Americans serve in the military these days (roughly ten percent, if that much) that the usual journalistic ignorance of military terms and conventions (because very few journalists are among the ten percent) has spread to the general populace. For instance, the misunderstanding  about the Bronze Star Medal (BSM).

A lot of people seem to think it’s a valor award. Probably they get that from the news media crowing about some soldier they’re puffing (they either puff or criticize, they can’t seem to draw any line down the middle) as having been awarded a BSM. At least they now frequently refrain from saying the soldier “won” it, as if war was a “reality” show on the rube.

The BSM with a V is a valor medal, though still at the bottom of the scale of valor medals. My own from 1969 has no V, so it can’t be said to have been awarded for my heroism, of which there was none . I only answered the call of duty. The BSM is generally awarded (there are exceptions to everything) for having been assigned to a combat unit, though not necessarily for participating in combat. It’s a fairly mundane award.

“It’s the showing-up-for-work-on-time medal,” as an old friend of mine who also fought in Vietnam likes to say, though the “work” is combat. My friend has a Silver Star medal, which is a valor medal by itself and therefore requires no V.  And it’s a much bigger deal than a BSM, even one with a V, though it’s still third on the scale, below the Distinguished Service Cross and the Medal of Honor, the premier valor medal.

Training the jaws that will bite you

Joey Hairplugs’ pathetic vice presidential “debate” performance the other night was useful in at least one way, as Sultan Knish shows.

Joey let slip that the Pentagon is aiding and training Syria’s Islamist rebels. You know, the Muslim Brotherhood. Again. Oh goody. And I’m sure they will deny everything when the Brotherhood decides to attack Israel and/or us.

UPDATE:  Indeed, it seems we have been arming them, through Benghazi, Libya, and the slain American ambassador may been involved.

The media’s mechanical men (and women)

Hammer. Nail.

“Consume enough media and you come to understand that the people manufacturing it are not only hacks, they’re clueless hacks, who like their master in the White House, have absolutely no idea how to solve any of the country’s problems and no interest whatsoever in even bothering to try.

“They are mechanical men [and women] marching to an ideological beat and have no more interest in reality than do the denizens of a mental ward.

“Our economy is on its last legs, our national security is shot and the only reason we’re still running is that the country still has reserves of wealth that haven’t been plundered and the dregs of a counter-terror policy that carried over to these [past] four years.”

And, just like in 2008, the media is doing all it can to once again drag Ophony and his goofy sidekick over the finish line—so much so that even a Democrat notices it. As a recovering journalist of thirty-five years it never fails to amaze me that anyone takes the biased and formulaic news biz seriously. “First draft of history,” my arse.
