The Global Warming Shuck

Thomas Sowell spells it out in this decade-old-but-still-relevant review of a documentary that’s still available on the Internet:

“While the public has been led to believe that ‘all’ the leading scientists buy the global warming hysteria and the political agenda that goes with it, in fact the official reports from the United Nations or the National Academy of Sciences are written by bureaucrats — and then garnished with the names of leading scientists who were ‘consulted,’ but whose contrary conclusions have been ignored.”

From one black man to another

A real black professor calls out the phony black professor who can’t tell the truth even with a teleprompter:

“When Barack Obama squanders his own credibility with his glib lies, he is not just injuring himself during his time in office. He is inflicting a lasting wound on the country as a whole.”

A wound that’s getting deeper all the time, as Barry’s “Justice” Department ignores the IRS scandal, he gets newspapermen and rodeo clowns fired, his pals in Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood have destroyed 54 Christian churches and monasteries, some of them ancient, he has secretly eliminated U.S. aid to Egypt’s military, and polls show less than half of Americans trust him anymore.

He’s Nixon with a sun tan. Unfortunately, the court media isn’t likely to push him to resign. And the GOP doesn’t have the cajones to impeach him.

UPDATE:  Barry’s strange love affair with the Muslim Brotherhood. What do you want to bet he’s not even embarrassed now?

Another nice loser pushes us into the fire this time

My mother-in-law said it best, if somewhat sheepishly at using the phrase. Williard, she said, had no balls. No kidding.

That was back in August. I knew she had him pegged after his “me too” approach to Barry’s foreign policy assertions in the third debate. He was just another nice loser, as Thomas Sowell says.

Aided and abetted by obvious Democrat fraud in Philadelphia, Cleveland and Chicago—and possibly Florida’s Gold Coast, as well—which the Republican Party curiously is not protesting. Almost makes you think they  like to lose, they do it so often.

But Sowell, a conservative black economics professor and disciple in his youth of free marketeer Milton Friedman, says their 2012 loss could be disastrous:

“Quite aside from the immediate effects of particular policies, Barack Obama has repeatedly circumvented the laws, including the Constitution of the United States, in ways and on a scale that pushes this nation in the direction of arbitrary one-man rule….

“Obama will now also have more ‘flexibility,’ as he told Russian president Dmitri Medvedev, to transform the international order, where he has long shown that he thinks America has too much power and influence. A nuclear Iran can change that. Forever.

“Have you noticed how many of our enemies in other countries have been rooting for Obama? You or your children may yet have reason to recall that as a bitter memory of a warning sign ignored on Election Day in 2012.”

Let’s hope Sowell is too cynical by half. Hope may be all we have left.

UPDATE:  So much for hope. Barry said he had Israel’s back. He lied. His support for Israel’s self-defense lasted just 48 hours. His public support, that is.

By my reading of the journo tea leaves, he set private guidelines on the first day of U.S. Senate support: i.e. he wants no ground invasion of Gaza to clean out the Hamas rat’s nest and says, BTW, don’t bomb too long, Bibi, ’cause it might endanger the “two-state solution.”

Even W (a veteran who knows military campaigns are not won from the air) waited for a week or two of Gaza ground scouring by the IDF before asking for withdrawal.

UPDATE:  Sure enough, Barry and the Hildabeast pushed Bibi into accepting a ceasefire in which the Brotherhood will decide who the violators are and when. I wonder how much of our tax money Egypt has been promised, not to mention Hamas. Hardly matters. It won’t last a week, if that long, and Bibi’s government may collapse before then.

Cooling out the mark

If you vote for Barry, then you are the mark that’s been cooled out, sucker.

“From the time it took office, the Obama administration has sought to suppress the very concept of a ‘war on terror’ or the terrorists’ war on us.

“The painful farce of calling the Fort Hood murders ‘workplace violence,’ instead of a terrorist attack in our midst, shows how far the Obama administration would go to downplay the dangers of Islamic extremist terrorism.

“The killing of Osama bin Laden fed the pretense that the terrorism threat had been beaten. But the terrorists’ attack in Libya exposed that fraud — and required another fraud to try to “cool out” the voters until after election day.”

And when it comes to perpetrating fraud, Barry’s your man.

Via a commenter at Neo-Neocon, which also has a good Fox News special report on Benghazi video. While the rest of Barry’s court media joins in “cooling the mark,” Fox is on the case.

UPDATE:  So is the Drudge Report, the sometimes shrill but always influential news source that, if you remember that far back as some of us do, broke the Slick Willie-Monica scandal open when Newsweak was sitting on it.

The Phony-in-Chief

Since his stupefying debate loss, Barry has taken to calling Mittens a phony and a liar. Now, that’s psychological projection on a grand scale, as economist-commentator Thomas Sowell shows.

“If you want to know what community organizers do, this is it — rub people’s emotions raw to hype their resentments. And this was Barack Obama in his old community organizer role, a role that should have warned those who thought that he was someone who would bring us together, when he was all too well practiced in the arts of polarizing us apart.”

Of course it helped that the Democrat news media was busy defaming Sarah Palin, her husband and her children, so they didn’t have time (had they the inclination, which was unlikely) to truly examine the half-black novelty act running for president.

Next up for Barry’s re-election campaign (we can be sure) the incendiary  racism charge they’ve been saving for the last week or so. Bet they’d love a riot or two.

UPDATE:  Have to say that Barry’s bizarre choice of vice president, Joey Hairplugs, the premier buffoon of the Democrat Party, outdid his boss Thursday night (Oct. 11) bullying, snickering, sneering, smirking, and generally making an old fool of himself in the “debate” with Republican Paul Ryan.

Some people now think old Joey may have a bipolar disorder. Naw, he’s just a pathetic idiot who’s been living off the government teat his whole life. You go guys! Watching you two clowns go down in flames on election day will be a pure pleasure.

A Personal Odyssey

If you enjoy conservative economist Thomas Sowell’s books as much as I do, even if/when you disagree with him, you owe it to yourself to read his revealing autobio.

Other such men might strive only to make themselves look good. Sowell shows his occasional contentiousness even when it doesn’t reflect well on him.

His fractured family life in the South and North and sometimes youthful destitution are engrossing, as are his starts and stops in education leading to his PhD in economics. And his accidental entry into the Marine Corps and gaming of its daily enlisted life are amusing. Worth your money and your time.

Egg Nog vs Skim Milk

Every time I see some liberal, such as a particular columnist in the Democrat daily, for one, refer to Fox News as “Faux News,” I’m reminded of this quote from Stanford economist Thomas Sowell:

“Watching CNN after watching Fox News Network is like drinking skim milk after you have gotten used to egg nog.”

Which is undoubtedly why Fox News is far and away more popular than CNN—much to the consternation of the Dems, alarmed that one of the six television networks doesn’t toe their political line.
