Rule 5: Girls With Guns

800X500-idf

A not-unfamiliar sight in Israel. Certainly would improve the landscape here.

The president who won’t

“President Obama finally acknowledged last night that the attack in San Bernardino was an ‘act of terrorism.’ Yet, as a Journal editorial observes, “the President devoted most of his speech to defending the strategy he has pursued for 16 months against Islamic State without much success. He cited his bombing campaign, but he didn’t mention that the vast majority of sorties drop no bombs because of the limits he has placed on the military.“

Or maybe the headline should be the president who can’t. Can’t admit he was wrong. Keep making those range trips, guys. Keep practicing hitting center mass. It’s for sure the feds aren’t going to be of any help.

War is cruelty

I look at the case of Ensign Wesley Frank Osmus and wonder if Americans would ever be forgiven, as the Japanese have been, for doing something like that to a POW.

Then I think of the Rainbow Division’s encounter with the SS guards at Dachau, promptly lining them up against a stone wall and executing them after discovery of the dead stacked like cord-wood and the emaciated, yet surviving, slave laborers in the Nazi’s oldest concentration camp. Outside the Nazi Party’s original stomping ground of Munich. My Dallas cousin Jerry Stover helped liberate Dachau, but if he participated in the executions I never heard about it.

Not precisely equivalent, of course, but similar. My Lai more to your taste? Wounded Knee? My atrocity more profound than yours, theirs, etc.? The head-choppers of ISIS? The RF-PFs I advised in the second half of 1969 routinely executing NVA prisoners? Complained about it; nothing was ever done.

Gen. William Tecumseh Sherman:  “War is cruelty, and you cannot refine it.”

Let the murderous Pallys have their state

Then, when they start knifing Israelis, shooting at cars on Israel’s highways or launching missiles like their buds in Gaza, bomb them into the stone age.

“…this seemingly complex conflict has only two simple, practical solutions. The first is to agree with Abbas that Oslo is dead, and act swiftly and mercilessly against the terrorist cells that launch or inspire those who stab, shoot, and blow up Jews….

“…the second practical solution: the unilateral disengagement plan…unilaterally annex a thin strip of the West Bank. Annex it, and annex the Jordan Valley, too…

“Israeli Arabs who deeply resent living in a Jewish state—like the scum who sipped his soft drink as innocents were being stabbed in front of his eyes in Jerusalem the other day, or the shopkeepers who laughed and spat at a wounded Jewish woman seeking shelter for herself and her toddler—could opt to move to the other side of the fence…”

Where these darlings of  the West’s leftist news media fascists could wallow in their own Muslim kleptocracy. It won’t satisfy them or the Dictator’s Club (aka the United Nations), but so what? When they have a state, treat them like any other foreign power. If they attack, declare war like any state would and bomb them mercilessly.

Our feckless federal security

“American soldiers in the Middle East have been receiving emails that sound something like this: ‘Good morning. We thought you would like to know that we are carefully watching your daughter Rosie, the one who lives in Wichita at 1234 State Street. This is to inform you that if your tank moves 100 meters north, she will not live to see the sun rise tomorrow.’”

Just one example of how foreign hackers could bring a whole new meaning to asymmetrical warfare if our federal computer security can’t get its act together.

The French train staff hid

Those three four Americans who disarmed a would-be Islamist terrorist on a French train? Somehow our snooze media missed the details recounted by Paris Match: the train staff hid while the Americans were saving their fellow passengers.

Sheltering in place, apparently, the federal advice on what to do in terrorist attacks. Fight back? Perish the thought. Now we get to find out if the Americans (one Army, one Air Force, and two civilians, despite being called Marines in some reports) will be prosecuted for a hate crime. Ya think?

UPDATE:  The French government, at least, is pleased with them. And: Fear is contagious; so is courage.

MORE:  There was also a French-American college professor in on assaulting the jidhadi. The prof was shot. Just how incompetent is the snooze media these days in tracking down the details?

13 hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi

I actually teared up the first time I watched this trailer of the new Benghazi flick.

Because I had thought that the Obama administration and their lapdog Democrat news media had successfully swept it, and Ambassador Chris Stevens’ murder, under the rug.

To the extent that a U.S. Secretary of State shouted at a Senate committee: “What difference, at this point, does it make?!” and no one on the committee or in the media said boo.

Now maybe we’ll finally find out what difference, at this point, it makes.
