The end of Trumpalot or the beginning?

Having thrown Gen. Flynn under the bus and now being battered by the usual leftist lizards to get rid of the woman who arguably helped him get elected, Trump’s choices are narrowing.  PJMedia’s Michael Walsh thinks they boil down to these:

First, complete his cabinet.

Second, fire every fireable federal employee in the leak-prone agencies, including the Central Intelligence Agency.

Third, start taking operational security seriously.

Fourth, assume everything you say will leak to the media and be spun as malevolently as possible.

Fifth, trust nobody.

Will he? Can he? If not, we can probably expect his impeachment shortly after the Dims take back the House in 2018.

No Obamacare repeal. Shoot, not even hearings featuring some of the multitude screwed out of their insurance and doctors by Obamacare. No tax reform. Not even tax reduction. A slain Labor nominee, thanks to Republicans cooperating with Democrats in attacks on his ex-wife.

Instead, as Ann Coulter puts it “Republicans in Congress refuse to do the people’s will. Their sole, driving obsession is to see Trump fail.” All they want is to be part of the establishment, the establishment Trump is threatening.

They are a significant part of the swamp that needs draining. Trump will get to them in his own good time. It will be death-by-a-thousand-Tweets. It couldn’t happen to a slimier bunch of stooges. The Stupid Party.

The soft coup: Flynn won’t be the last

Never mind what Gen. Flynn said or didn’t to the Russian ambassador, or what he did or didn’t tell the Vice President about it, the real story (as usual the one mostly being ignored) is how the permanent administrative state sandbagged Flynn: they released a classified intelligence intercept of his phone call to the Democrat news media.

There’d have been no controversy without that first, clearly illegal act, in which the Democrat media was only too happy to cooperate. What the government was doing tapping Flynn’s phone is a whole other issue likewise being ignored. This is the work of a police state. Likewise the unprecedented investigation of Flynn and the rest of Trump’s transition team by the Obama DOJ and FBI.

“…this is a rolling coup attempt, organized by elements of the intelligence community, particularly CIA and NSA, abetted by Obama-era holdovers in the understaffed Justice Department…and the lickspittles of the leftist media.”

Trump properly fired Obama’s DOJ director (ostensibly for something else) but he should not have kept the FBI stooge-in-charge. Nor should he have forced Flynn to resign. He’ll be very sorry to have set that particular precedent. Because what Judicial Watch calls “the soft coup” against him is just getting started. Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway looks to be the next victim as the Obama-appointed Ethics Commission has started attacking her—with the full support of the Democrat media.

For an anti-establishmentarian who claims to support the Constitution, Trump is remarkably anti-Constitution when it comes to the favorite tactic of some police: asset forfeiture.

That the cops can seize your money, your car, even your home, without you having been convicted of any crime is fascism, straight up. But Trump claims to love it. To the point of threatening to “destroy” the career of Texas state senator Konni Burton, a Republican Tea Party organizer, who is fighting the practice.

Replied Burton: “Requiring the government to secure a criminal conviction before permanently taking property from citizens is simply commonsense.”

Even, why should a criminal’s family be put on the street for something he did? It’s time for Mr. Law-n-Order to come clean about who he really is.

Revolt Against The Elites

P.J. O’Roark in the new issue of the Weekly Standard:

“The elites fail and don’t suffer any consequences from their failures. As it is with elite carelessness about refugees, so it is with elite carelessness about immigration. To elites immigration means nannies, household staff, and fun new ethnic restaurants. Elites don’t see any similarity between Trump’s border wall and the gated communities where they live.”

They will, eventually, when the wall is up and the steady flow of cheap, unskilled labor is choked at last.

Butt Out, Donald

Yeah I voted for him and yeah I mostly like what he’s doing and hope to like more and more as time goes on. But his recent bark at Israel to stop with the settlements is damned odd. It’s the establishment’s oldest line and our Donald is supposed to be anti-establishment. Whatever gives with that, stop it. Now.

As for Israel, please keep settling Judea and Samaria and then annex all of it!
