Bannon the street fighter

“I don’t need the affirmation of the mainstream media. I don’t care what they say. They can call me an anti-Semite. They can call me racist. They call me nativist. You can call me anything you want. Okay? As long as we’re driving this agenda for the working men and women of this country, I’m happy.”

There’s more good quotes, here.

Trump & Pence fail to call out Antifas

Vice President Mike Pence at least hinted at their existence when he said:

“I will say I take issue with the fact that many in the national media spent more time criticizing the president’s words than they did criticizing those that perpetrated the violence to begin with.

“Indeed,” Breitbart reported, “much of the violence that occurred in Charlottesville was started by the left-wing Antifa groups that went to the city to confront the ‘Unite the Right’ rally-goers.”

Unite the Right had a permit to march. The Antifa troublemakers, who the videos of the riot show armed with clubs and wearing helmets over their masked faces, did not.

But President Trump also failed to call out Antifa by name Monday, spending his words on the so-called White Supremacists, neo-Nazis and KKK who had every right to rally and march whether we like them or not.

For shame. Donald, for shame. By not calling Antifa out by name, you ensure they will perpetrate many more riots to come.

Sessions has to go

From Instapundit commenter MikeSixes: “His push to step up the seizure of innocent people’s property was reason enough. His continued persecution of the Little Sisters [of The Poor] is too much. He has to go.”

Moreover, as commenter Killerbee adds: “Any AG that ramps up the war on drugs (unwinnable, never ending, corrupt to the core, a deflection from the blatant criminality in DC) rather than going after the things that actually need going after either has things to hide, is owned by someone, or just has a terrible handle on the job.”

How about some investigations of leakers? Reopening of the Clinton email case?

Resign, Sessions, resign.

Fake news, again

You remember the Trump cabinet meeting story? In which, according to the Mediacrats, the cabinet members sucked up to the boss? A Maoist reeducation session? Not. Didn’t happen.

“This small episode, this miniature, wholly unnecessary bit of dissembling or incompetence by the press, is a nice example of what Nicole Hemmer, a political scientist at the University of Virginia, has called ‘Trump Exceptionalism.’ It is a disease that strikes journalists above all. In the eyes of the bright young things who work in the White House press corps, with their faulty educations and unearned world-weariness, everything Trump does must be nefarious, and if not nefarious, at least vulgar and unprecedented. It just has to be. So it is. Even when it’s not.”

No wonder Trump gets so pissy on Twitter about Fake News.

Cutting back on fake news

Scott Adams has a good idea for replacing the White House press briefings, which have only turned into a sneer fest of gotcha games fueling fake news.

Take it to the Internet, he says, with written questions and answers, supplemented by occasional video clips, and let the public respond to the questions and answers, though some sort of refereeing and censorship would be necessary there.

I like this author of Dilbert, which is a funny strip, and I’ll probably get around to reading his anti-self help book as well.

Election meddling was inside job

Unless Seth Rich, the murdered DNC staffer who sent 44,035 internal emails to Wikileaks, was a Russian or on their payroll.

Now we have a motive for his unsolved murder. The only remaining problem is finding whodunit. But the Trump-Russian circus should be over. Should be.

End the “daily briefings” now

“Yes, I spent 25 years as a member of the MSM, 16 of them at Time magazine at the pinnacle of its fame and influence. Still, I have to agree with Mr. Newt that it’s not the function of the executive branch to spoon-feed the hostile, lazy, anonymice-quoting Washington press corps at a daily briefing in the White House…The daily briefing has devolved into a coup-counting sneer fest, with reporters attempting to score points while eliciting exactly zero useful or newsworthy information. Close it down.”

Couldn’t have said it better, and so I’m reprinting this from PJMedia columnist Michael Walsh.
