“Obama negotiates like a Care Bear”

I’d post this video if I could figure out how.  For now you’ll have to go here to see it. Don’t miss it. I’m pretty sure it’s a Spanish parody. If so it’s a pretty accurate one.

The Europeans hated Bush. They’re laughing at Obama,

Fight the power

The Oregon judge commissioner who knowingly put the anti-gay marriage bakers out of business with a fine they could never pay tried to beggar them further.

“In the ruling, [Commissioner Brad] Avakian placed an effective gag order on the Kleins, ordering them to ‘cease and desist’ from speaking publicly about not wanting to bake cakes for same-sex weddings based on their Christian beliefs.”

So as not to be able to raise money from sympathizers beyond their immediate circle to help them pay the $135,000 fine for, get this, “mentally raping” the two Lesbians they refused to serve. Oh, please. But Mr. Judge Commissioner didn’t enjoin us from helping the Kleins by posting the address of their new Internet site.

Where they seem to be as defiant as ever, risking their hides anew with this wording of their Web ad: “We here at Sweet Cakes strongly believe that when a man and woman come together to be joined as one, it is truly one of the most special days of their lives, we feel truely honored when we are chosen to do the cake for your special day.”

Meanwhile, the Democrat Party, Stalinists of old and of late, are daring anyone else to try and follow suit. Why don’t we all get together and make the Kleins richer than they could ever imagine? Me, I would be more creative, but to each their own. That really is the essence of the religious clause of the First Amendment after all.

They’re going to need to pay more lawyer fees it seems and it would be lots more effective than handing our money to pols who will only go back on their promises after they’re elected. Lying, as always, and merely adding to the new state coercion. Eh?

To coin a phrase: Fight the power. Order a cake or some cookies.

UPDATE: It’s always worth fighting the left, instead of trying to accomodate it the way pathetic RINOs do. Why? Because, as Sultan Knish explains, the left is only interested in power: “The left does not care about gay rights. If you doubt that, consider how many of the left’s favorite Muslim countries have gay rights. The left has recently divided its campaign passions between gay marriage and defending Iran. Iran denies the existence of gays and hangs them where it finds them.”

Bring out your dead

Barry Hussein tried and failed to defeat Bibi, but he isn’t likely to have learned anything from it, much less to dispose of his Iran policy which has done the impossible: united Israel and the Arabs.

It isn’t Mr. Obama’s habit to admit error, or to be gracious to his opponents, but it would serve the interests of both nations if he were. Israel’s raucous democracy is imperfect, like America’s, but it is the only reliable one in the bloody cauldron of the Middle East.”

The curious thing, as Mr. Goon says, was that even the exit polls showed Bibi losing, all of them having almost the same numerical result. As if the fix was in to sway the voters right up until the polls closed.

The Christmas Truce

Historically, the Christmas Truce goes back to World War I and possibly earlier. But we had them in Viet Nam, too, though I only recall the one of 1969 when I was there.

Russ Wheat, an OCS classmate, recalls a ditty his rifle company used to sing about that time: “Jingle Bells, shotgun shells, VC in the grass, you can take your Christmas Truce and shove it da-da-da.”

Of course such truces made a certain sense in a European war, but none at all in an Asian one where the enemy not only did not celebrate Christmas but had few if any Christians. Likewise they didn’t “respect” the red crosses on the medevac birds, no more than the Taliban has in Afghanistan.

The Christmas Truce of 1969 was pure politics, consumption entirely for the home folks for whom the anti-war protests were becoming ferocious. It had little or no effect on us with the misfortune of having to fight the damn war.

Detente with the Castros

Frankly, I couldn’t care less about Obumbles’ latest bad negotiation with a dictator. He’s a lying sap. We know that. Fidel and Raul are thugs. No surprise.

As for Lurch, hey, the man never met a dictator he didn’t love. Otherwise, as PJMedia’s Roger L. Simon puts it: “In the end, that will pretty much be about beach resorts, maybe a Havana gambling casino or two for Jay-Z.  Standard crony capitalism stuff.”

The Cubans won’t be getting any more political freedom any time soon. They’ll get the cleaning jobs, and wait tables, join the half-naked chorus line and maybe even aspire to croupier. A swarm of gringo tourists to fleece. Better than the communist nothing they have now.

Much more worrisome is Obongo’s and Lurch’s love-affair with Iran. The mullahs will have nukes, and probably a lot sooner than we think.

Hamas rockets resume

The third time was the charm for the Israeli Air Force Friday. Its stretch F-16s carried out air strikes on a Hamas training camp in the southern Gaza strip. The third time was the third rocket fired since the end of last summer’s campaign, this one into Eshkol.

The rocket followed a large anti-Israel Hamas demo on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem calling for a resumption of the rocket barrage. And a Hamas delegation’s visit to Iran, one of the terror group’s principal backers, along with Qatar and Turkey. Keep it up schmucks and you’ll get another campaign that could be more devastating than the previous one.

UPDATE:  The strikes included a cement factory for building more tunnels, Bibi says.

Workplace violence in Sydney

Never mind the black flag in the window of the Sydney, Australia coffee shop that says “There is no god but Allah.” The Fort Hood killer shouted the same thing as he gunned down his unarmed prey, but Wormtongue’s feds are still denying it could have been anything but workplace violence.

We’ll have to wait and see what the Aussies decide to term it. Possibly depending on how many of the between 12 and 40 hostages make it out alive and, of course, how many are employees. Gotta parse the tea leaves in these matters and, above all, pretend they’re not religion-motivated.

That would be Islamophobic. And we can’t have that now, can we? Why, shoot, some people (including the police) can actually see the perp with what appears to be a pump shotgun. So are there police snipers on the case? Not yet. But, hey, there’s some progress. The event is now officially being referred to as “a terrorist incident.” Take that, Barry.

UPDATE:  The perp is dead and two hostages. “11:30 EST The Daily Telegraph is now saying 4 wounded, 2 dead. One of the deceased is reportedly ‘Sheik’ Man Haron Monis, as he is now referred to in the press.” He was another known Lone Wolf.
