More climate change shuck

Climate change ought to be a debate but is buried under so many tons of political, scientist and celebrity bullshit that the best it draws from most critics is a healthy snort.

Hey, “Hans Solo” is fighting to save the planet. Gosh I’m impressed. Aren’t you?

Me, I prefer the acerbic like Mark Steyn, a bold marauder if there ever was one. Only weak arguments, Steyn notes, require the muzzling of their opponents. Yep.

Especially when the “solution” to this weak argument is frightening in itself.

Fortunately, our Little Barry Hussein has as much influence on this as he does generally, i.e. none.

UPDATE:  Lurch,  our halfwit secretary of state and, not incidentally, the husband of a ketchup heiress, calls for the public shaming of climate change deniers: his master’s preferred alternative to proof or debate.

The climate crisis of the elites

There’s nothing like photos of the Obama-Kerry power luncheon with the other elites of the Dictator’s Club (aka the United Nations) to demonstrate how the so-called climate crisis is really about us giving them our tax and utility money to go on being elites who will tell us how to live.

“There is a consensus among the political elites of the world that we must act immediately to expand trans-national government power, diminish economic liberty through taxes and regulation, shut down the fossil fuel industry, and redistribute wealth globally; all things the left wanted to do anyway. What a happy accident that these are precisely the things that must be done in order to save the Earth from Global Warming.”

I know they’re not going to get it by a vote from us little people. They may have most of the atheistic science world in their pockets, but there aren’t enough of the gullible among the rest of us to put it over.

So I presume they’ll try to take it by force—controlling our lives by taking away the coal we need for electricity and the oil for gasoline. While their lifestyles stay the same or even improve. Then we’ll see just how long they keep their power, among other things.

NASA invented global warming

“…if you look at the raw data, as opposed to NASA’s revisions, you’ll find that since 1940 the planet has been cooling, not warming.”

Like good little feds, they knew how to make the boss happy. But like dumb little feds they didn’t know how to keep from getting caught. Maybe if their client scientists squeal loud enough?

First frost of the season

A light freeze for some around Central Texas, tomorrow and Monday mornings, but more likely a frost for us. And with gusty winds it will feel colder. A little early, perhaps, but not bad when you consider the lows will pop right back up into the 60s on Tuesday morning.

Considering all the federal hoo-rah over supposed global warming climate change, I do wish we could get back to warm winters. Haven’t had a real good warm one in several years. But at least this frost is more or less on time and not as early as previous winters.

UPDATE:  Then, on the coldest night since March, the furnace quit. Turned out to be a problem with the thermostat. As Mr. B. said: “Adversity builds character.” Or else it’s just a pain in the arse.

The “warmest temperature recorded” shuck

One of our local television station’s meteorology departments prints on their phone app the latest federal climate change do-dah, without any perspective at all: warmest October evah. Well, recorded, at any rate. Getting a little more serious with the claims, but not much.

Poppycock says a host of scientists: “Greenpeace Co-Founder Dr. Patrick Moore: ‘We are dealing with pure political propaganda that has nothing to do with science.'”

Rising C02’s hidden benefit

Our Barry Hussein and the climate change scammers keep warning that the world’s deserts will expand north unless we give up abundant electricity, the internal combustion engine and other conveniences of a fossil-fueled economy.

Au contraire:

“According to [2013] research reported in the Geophysical Research Letters, increased levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) over the past three decades have caused an 11 percent increase in green foliage over the globe’s arid regions through a process called CO2 fertilization.”

The research finding, that desert margins are shrinking, not expanding, is two years old. Unless you’ve never seen it, in which case it’s as new as this morning. It’s the hidden benefit of CO2 available to all with satellite data. Funny how our own president, his agencies and his “green” cronies never seem to mention it.

Google’s solar plant runs on natural gas

For four hours a day, no less. But that’s not the funniest part. The funniest part about this giant bird burner, is this:

“Because of alarmism based on computer model predictions of rising temperatures in 100 years, we’ve built a fossil-fuel fired solar plant which is already in trouble because of failed computer model predictions of the clouds over the next few years …

“Now, even the best solar energy conversion devices don’t operate 24 hours a day, or even 12 hours a day. Generally, eight hours a day or even less is the norm. And that has been cut down by clouds … so at present, dreaded fossil fuels are likely providing a third of the energy to fuel the plant.”

Google’s plant, of course, is fully subsidized by the Democrat federal government, i.e. your tax money at work, because it isn’t efficient enough to turn a profit. Which isn’t funny at all.
