The new fascism

More, inevitably, on Barry, the Chicago hate-America crowd (Ayers & Wright) he surrounds himself with, and his nutty wife who talks about how he will save our souls, whether we like it or not:

"The primary question in my head about Obama is beginning to move beyond ‘Is this guy a lightwight?’ to a simpler one: ‘Is this guy simply a walking lie, in a deep way and on multiple levels?’"

Either that or, like his terrorist pal and racist thug minister of twenty years, he’s truly creepy. At best, I think, we can all Hope to Change the subject. Go ahead Dems, save your party from collapse. Pick the lying Hillary.

MORE:  Occurs to me, reading these comments and links at Instapundit, that what Rev. God damn America was up to yesterday at the National Press Club might have been getting even with Barry for falling asleep in church once too often. But, hey, the NAACP loved it. They sure have changed.

Finally, black dissent

Philadelphia’s black mayor, Michael Nutter, steps out of ranks and criticizes Rev. God damn America.

A Bound Man

My copy of Shelby Steele’s book on Barry came last night via UPS while we were watching the Longhorns drub Stanford, 82 to 62. I haven’t finished it yet (it’s short), but I see that Barry already is practicing what Steele says will be his downfall (I cheated and read the last few pages): he is not a man of policy convictions honed by experience (like McCain and even Hilarity) but an empty suit trying to be everyone’s Magic Negro. Steele maintains that it will not work. I think we know, on the other hand, from Barry’s autobiography and twenty years with Rev. God damn America that deep down he wants to be a big-government, high-taxing Leftist, and if he wants to have any chance at all he’d for damn sure better keep that as quiet as possible. Newermind his race, America has never elected one of those president, either.

He Who Must Not Be Middle Named

Anecdotally at least, Barry seems to be taking some political hits over his mentor/pastor’s "God damn America" line, even in Hollyweird, according to Roger L. Simon.

Barack the Banal*

Democrat presidential candidate Barack Hussein Obama (are we really ready for this guy?) kicks off his campaign by using the Left’s chickenhawk ploy to insult John Howard, the prime minister of America’s most venerable ally, suggesting Australia hasn’t done enough in Iraq.

As Wretchard notes, the Aussie’s 1,400 troops are proportionately about right for a nation of only 20 million. In any case, in addition to the chickenhawk argument being used mainly by chickens, Obama-rama is anti-war. So, apart from being politically boring with nothing new to say–at best, a black Dennis Kucinich–in my book he’s also irrelevant. Except, as Howard says, to OBL who would welcome a withdrawal from OBL’s proposed new caliphate. But perhaps I err. Even Kucinich would have more guts than to put off his proposed withdrawal from Iraq thirteen months in the future. Now who’s the chickenhawk?
