Executive Anus

I’ve conjured up a plethora of names for Barry Hussein, from Wormtongue for his habit of telling egregious lies, to Our Little Barry, for his petulant adolescent behavior in such as pretending to scratch his face with his middle finger.

But an 86-year-old gun dealer grandma in Roseburg, the Oregon town that was the latest victim of those stupid gun-free zones, has me beat all hollow. She calls His Earness “executive anus.” He sure is anal. Hasn’t had a new idea since he changed his name from Barry Sotero to you-know-what.

Indeed, if that Roseburg community college had had one good person with a gun (even their “security” guard was unarmed) to confront the evil that came calling, those dead students might still be alive. Instead, executive anus wants to make it harder for the good guys to get guns. Can’t get more anal than that.

In which, egads, I defend Barry

Wormtongue’s being pilloried by the conservative blogs and sites, as usual, but undeservedly for once, I think, despite his admittedly regrettable attempt to turn the SC church shootings into a plea for more gun control. His remarks are being cherry-picked. Unfairly it seems to me. And I don’t say that often, as my rare readers know.

Thus spake his Earness: “At some point, we as a country will have to reckon with the fact that this type of mass violence does not happen in other advanced countries. It doesn’t happen in other places with this kind of frequency.”

I think the second sentence is what he meant to say rather than the first one, and so he added it to try to clarify what he’d just said. The first sentence being preposterous, which is, of course, his default position on most issues, i.e. to lie, but the second one was an attempt to recover by saying something that, I think, is undeniable.

Indeed, these shootings happen more frequently here than elsewhere. Although it’s debatable why they do. Is it because of our larger population or due to the wider availability of guns? Lots of Americans, myself included, own guns but would never think of mass murdering. So I’d go with the larger population than in most other advanced countries. Which is another odd choice of words. Isn’t he supposed to believe in cultural relativism where there are no “advanced” countries?

Barry’s just not a very good speaker, especially not spontaneously, as we’ve all learned over the years. Despite his portrayal as a genius debater by the lapdog Democrat news media that covers for him. He gets himself into these rhetorical corners and has only himself to blame when he can’t get out.

Still More Random Thoughts

Well, of course the climate warriors have a following. As long as it’s just rhetoric and someone else’s burden. Until they realize they’ll have to make do without a refrigerator, the biggest electricity draw in any abode, owned or rented, or else spend all their money on the electric bill to keep it running.

Ponzi schemes work great as long as everyone keeps paying. Gen-Y, or whatever they’re called this month, better get off their self-important behinds and get to work. I don’t want my checks to be late.

Just once, just once, I’d like to see a lengthy report in a leftist journal on the dark power of sororities.

We need fewer crooked lifetime experts and more enthusiastic honest amateurs. Can’t be that hard if Cuomo and Christy can do it. Not to mention Wormtongue.

Politics and crime are the media’s two favorite subjects because, basically, the information is free. At least from the pols who push, push, push it all the time. The cops are getting less cooperative these days. And more trigger happy.

The hyperregulatory state (shown by the 3, 415 new federal regulations issued before Thanksgiving) is excellent for the bureaucrats who do the regulating. So many opportunities for personal enrichment. Better known as graft.

Trigger Warning

I should probably make the headline a permanent sidebar hereabouts ( like the Everlasting Phelps did) for the precious little buttercups who might be, gasp, offended by something here. Altho the “I (heart) Israel” notice might be enuff.

I have to admit I always thought a trigger warning was a) not to put your finger on the trigger until you intended to fire the gun or b) to be prepared to be shot when you saw someone else’s finger on the trigger of a gun pointed at you. I guess you had to go to Leftist schools like UC Berkeley to know better. Live and learn.

Pushing back twice as hard

“Tensions continue to rise in Connecticut, as the home addresses of the legislators who voted for the [“assault” weapons] ban have been posted on numerous web sites and forums. Many of the legislators are now calling for police protective details, regarding the publication of their home addresses as a threat to their safety.”

This could become a “teaching moment” for pols elsewhere with the same plans to please their anti-gun supporters by disregarding the Constitution.

Our new gun-controlling surgeon general

With Obamalot, it’s politics all the way down. Comes now a young (36 years old) nominee for U.S. Surgeon General who would seem to have little medical experience. Ah, but he has plenty of the political kind and that’s what counts.

“Since 2008, Murthy has dedicated his career to achieving a political agenda, forming groups like Doctors for America, which has lobbied heavily for ObamaCare. Miraculously enough, that political campaign seems to have now paid off and earned him this nomination.”

Bet that’s one non-profit the IRS didn’t harass. Apparently Murthy also is a prominent anti-gunner, which is why the NRA opposes his nomination:

“A recent letter sent to Congress by ‘Doctors for America,’ and signed by Dr. Murthy, urges mandatory licensing ‘for anyone purchasing guns and ammunition—including mandatory firearm safety training and testing.’  Under Dr. Murthy’s scheme, further regulations would place ‘limits on the purchase of ammunition,’ and establish a ‘mandatory waiting period of at least 48 hours.'”

Gee, now why do I think this guy is being nominated primarily to help promote more federal gun control? At a time when thousands of gun owners in New York and Connecticut already are risking their lives defying  new state gun-registration laws. As Maryland‘s anti-gunner legislature considers a gun-confiscation scheme. And a nascent pushback from the police gets under way.

UPDATE:  Well, that’s a relief. The nomination is “troubled” and even the White House, whose principal occupant’s approval is down in 30s percent, is backing off on pushing Murthy. Under the bus with him!

Why Wendy will never be governor

I mean, besides her plan to make guns illegal and abortions in the third trimester just peachy—without calling it murder, of course.

Poor Wendy Davis, the Democrat abortion queen from Fort Worth, has to go all the way to NYC to raise money for her abortive (to coin a phrase) campaign for governor of Texas. Well, Wormtongue did promise to turn Texas blue and having Wendy for governor would sure make lots of us blue. But, really, there’s no danger. None at all.

I doubt that even Wendy really expects to win. Which is good. Realism is good for you. And if she can get some Yankee suckers to give her money for her hopeless campaign, all the better. Let the progressives pay. Through the nose.
