It’s all global warming, of course

Been a pleasant two weeks at the rancho, with highs in the low nineties and night-time lows in the mid-sixties. Even had some rain. Yep. Coolest start to a July since, oh, I don’t know, but there were others prior to the global warming boondoggle that’s become a billion-dollar science research industry courtesy of the feds.

Naturally, the cool has to be caused by the warming, and it’s supposedly something to do with melting Arctic Ice, according to Weather Underground. Everything is, you know. Cold, hot, rain, snow, drought. It’s Global Warming all the time. WeatherBell meteorologist Joe Bastardi explains why, in this case, as in many others, it’s pure bull. And, alas, he predicts we’ll soon be warming back up to our usual July-August stretch of 100-degree days.

UPDATE:  Local meteorologist Bob Rose says it’s the coolest start to July since 1967. I knew there had to be a precedent that had zip to do with AGW.

Good golly, Miss Dolly

So where’s the first tropical storm in the Gulf this season likely to wind up? So far Jeff Masters’ prediction above calls for a landfall as a minimal hurricane somewhere along the Texas-Mexico border, i.e. around Brownsville or Matamoros. For once, reduced as we often are to wishing for a hurricane to bring us some summer rain, we’ve got one that could do the job for us with a minimum of pain to others. But Accuweather’s Joe Bastardi thinks Dolly could be at least a Cat 2 by the time she reaches the border. More rain for us in Central Texas, maybe, but possibly also more pain for others along the Rio Grande.

Broadway Baby

Time out for Barry’s Leftist buddies Bernadine Dohrn and her husband William Ayers–with whom he served on a foundation board and held a 1995 campaign event in their home–and their connection to Broadway Baby:

It was a Manhattan boutique that Dohrn managed in 1979, where customer identity-theft funded Black Liberation Army and Weather Underground armed robberies. They led to the 1981 deaths of a black security guard and two white police officers. Charming, and BTW, unrepentent, these folks.

So what does all this make Barry, a useful idiot or a Trojan horse? Imagine what his supreme court appointments would be like.

Next rainmaker?

Not considered terribly likely to become a tropical depression, much less a storm, but worth watching if you’re on the coast. Scroll to the second image at the second link.

UPDATE: Instead, it looks like Central Texas gets clobbered tonight and tomorrow by a passing cold front out of the northwest, followed by another one on Friday.

MORE ON TUESDAY: Can’t get LCRA meteorologist Bob Rose’s permalink to work, but he says this thing (which might become a tropical depression tonight) will contribute to what looks like a week of rain. Familiar. It poured at the rancho this morning as Mr. Boy left for school. Finally quit at noon.
