B.O. plays the race card

No surprise. It’s the only card left in his feckless deck. And it was the first one Democrats dealt in the early days whenever his majesty the Lizard King was criticized for anything.

Now, after almost eight six years of cliche-ridden speeches and incompetent governance, with B.O.’s popularity polling at roughly 39 percent approval, all he has left is whining about how people don’t like him because of his half-race. Boo hoo.

I can think of lots of other reasons, Barry: the lies, the high unemployment, turning the IRS into a political machine, that “son I never had” nonsense about a gold-grill thug.

Wormtongue investigates himself

Yeah, we can all have confidence in this: A Democrat donor ($7,600) is leading the questioning of witnesses in the feds’ so-called “investigation” into the IRS’s harassment of conservative political groups.

A fact only lately rooted out by Congress, certainly never announced.

History has shown that all politicians, including presidents, are dishonest to a degree, but Wormtongue is in a class unto himself.

In part, because the dominant Democrat news media (but I repeat myself) looks the other way—or is busy eviscerating Republicans like Christie. And in part, I think, because the Worm knows that black men can get away with just about anything in America’s race-conscious, race-sensitive culture—enforced as it is by the same news media.

Although, now and then, retribution may finally catch up with them, as O.J. Simpson found out.

Janitors with bachelor’s degrees

A hundred and fifteen thousand of them, to be exact, according to Ohio University economist Richard Vedder. That’s what you get when you major in gender studies, sucker.

Meanwhile, the usual Democrat blather about pushing more people through college by handing out cheaper and cheaper loans is fueling an academic arms race that can only end poorly:

“The colleges raise their fees more than they otherwise would,” Vedder says. “This provides extra income for the colleges, which goes for a ton of different things — luxury facilities, more administrators, higher pay for people, and the like — and makes college less affordable.

“So the president, who is now talking, and says, “Gee, we ought to do something about this,” is instead of saying, “Well, let’s get to the root cause of this. Let’s get” — the one thing he can control or Congress can control — “let’s get rid of these programs, or let’s downsize them in some fashion,” instead is saying, “No, we want to keep these programs.”

Make them even bigger and badder. Wormtongue is such a genius.

“I think markets work,” says Vedder. “Sometimes they work slowly. Sometimes they work inefficiently because of subsidies and taxes and regulations imposed on markets that distort them. But I think kids are starting to say no. Enrollments are falling. They’re not rising right now in American higher ed.”

Another Democrat jobs killer

The Democrats love to prattle on (and on) about how they want to get those wretched unemployment numbers turned around. But they hate free markets and Wormtongue is the first to say so.

So whenever they get the chance, they go and whack small business (the No. 1 creator of new jobs) like their massive Obamacare tax this year that’s guaranteed to ratchet up the unemployment numbers.

“The research arm of the National Federation of Independent Business calculates that the higher insurance costs will shrink hiring by 146,000 to 262,000 jobs over the next decade, with 59% of those losses hitting small business.”

Keep this in mind the next time the White House’s principal occupant (when he and the missus aren’t on vacation) claims to be turning his undivided attention to the economy. Snort.

UPDATE:  How bad? This bad: “34%: The unemployment rate for Americans ages 16-17. The unemployment rate for teenage Hispanic Americans is 48%, and the rate for teenage Black Americans is 60%.”

As a commenter at Instapundit says: If this was a Republican admin, the moral outrage would be apoplectic, protests in the streets, etc. But with a Democrat one? Crickets.

Pols cut federal pensions of disabled veterans

tell us again

The pensions of civilian federal retirees were not affected by the cuts written into law by Republican Paul Ryan and backed by the Democrats. Meanwhile, last year, in the 12th full year of fighting, American troop deaths in Afghanistan finally reached 2,301.

UPDATE:  Apparently the law was amended to exempt the pensions of disabled retirees and their spouses from the cuts, while retaining the cuts for all other military retirees. Civilian federal retiree pensions still were not affected.

Our culture of corruption

“I know it sounds incredible, but there is no doubt about it whatsoever. According to Reuters, Anthony Podesta’s lobbying firm, the Podesta Group, has received over $900,000 in payments from the [Yanukovych] regime, using its European Center for a Modern Ukraine front organization as an intermediary.

“Other top Washington lobbyists are also serving the regime, including, to be nonpartisan about the matter, former Romney adviser Vin Weber. But Weber’s lack of principle is a private matter. Podesta has a direct connection to the president of the United States.”

UPDATE:  Judicial Watch lists ten most corrupt pols: from Wormtongue with his “continual lies;” the Lizard Queen with her shouted “What difference does it make?” about why an ambassador was left to die; to GOP Speaker John Boehner who collected $200,000 to move House legislation along. And seven more. While the non-Fox News media gives us Miley Cyrus, et al.

First legal pot sales in Colorado

“Judish peeled off $30 cash and walked out with 1/8 ounce of Larry OG, a potent strain of marijuana that connoisseurs like for its euphoric rush. ‘It’s cool to be part of history,’ he said with a grin. He had put his name on a list to be the first customer 14 hours earlier.”

It won’t be so cool to go to jail. It’s still a federal crime to buy, sell, or smoke marijuana. Which is why I say good luck to people like this who are foolish enough to put their names on a list the Choom Administration’s feds may soon be demanding to see.

UPDATE:  Or, maybe not. “The feds say they’ll intervene if governments can’t prevent distribution to minors or trafficking across state borders, but those are both inevitable and no one should expect that Attorney General Eric Holder’s troops will arrest people as they cross into Utah. Those are President Obama’s voters.
