Principles vs ideology

Democrat and Republican party bosses used to pick the candidates for the White House and Congress who, George Friedman says, governed on principles. Then the reforms of the 1970s happened, Jimmy Carter was the first “beneficary” and ideology has carried the day ever since.

“There is a vast difference between principle and ideology. Principles are core values that do not dictate every action on every subject, but guide you in some way. Ideology as an explanation of how the world works is comprehensive and compelling. Most presidents find that governing requires principles, but won’t allow ideology. But it is the senators and particularly the congressmen — who run in districts where perhaps 20 percent of eligible voters vote in primaries, most of them ideologues — who are forced away from principle and toward ideology.”

That’s a interesting take by the boss of Stratfor, Austin’s open intelligence agency. It only leaves out the obvious truth that President Obutthead is a Socialist ideologue who “governs” as one.

Thus the federal slimdown or semi-shutdown or whatever you choose to call it when the feds close national parks and veteran monuments but keep most federal agencies and their Democrat house organ NPR running full-tilt—instead of negotiating with the budget-setting conservative House for a reduction in entitlement spending.

Can you say Mexican standoff? Sure you can.

Embarrass Obadboy, get audited

“…Carson says the Internal Revenue Service started looking into his real estate holdings following his comments against the White House at the National Prayer Breakfast in February.  Carson says he had never had a problem with the tax-collecting agency until he spoke out against the president. Eventually, the IRS conducted a full audit against Carson and found no wrongdoing, he said.”

Coincidence? Sure, you bet.

This is what happens when most of the news media, the “Justice” Department and even the FBI are in the White House bag.

And it’s not like Obadboy didn’t warn us what he would do, way back in 2009. Now we see why he likes Putin and the Iranian Mullahs so much. He’s a wannabee dictator.

Dial 1-800-F**KYO

That’s the help line number for ObamaCare (1.800.3182596) and its ten thousand page rulebook. Either the SOBs did it on purpose or it’s the biggest federal blunder of the last hundred years. You could spell other things with the numbers, of course, but you shouldn’t be able to spell that.

Like an adolescent bully in the schoolyard, Obutthead likes giving the finger to his opponents. He’s done it often enough in public (coyly scratching his head with his middle finger) that even his supporters no longer bother to deny it. But this? The man really is insane.

Ten thousand five hundred and thirty five

That’s how many pages there are in the ObamaCare regulations published so far in the Federal Register. California Democrat Henry Waxman apparently has not read them.

He dismissed a question from CNSNews correspondent Penny Starr about whether he had read the regs by calling it “a propaganda question.”

That was a curious turn of phrase. “Propaganda” was one of the criticisms the IRS applied in denying Tea Party get-out-the-vote groups ordinary tax exemptions before the 2012 presidential elections, and in one case until this week. Democrat minds think alike, obviously.

Ten thousand five hundred and thirty five pages of regulations. Doctors who can’t afford to hire lawyers to read and interpret the regs aren’t going to be in business for long. Ready for your “free” medical care? Good luck with that.

UPDATE:  During the “shut down,” or “slim down,” we’re discovering why they need so many regs. They have all these “nonessential federal employees” who need something to do.

MORE:  Maybe some of them could be put to work on the ObamaCare website—so far, it sucks. And, big surprise, it’s getting worse. Is FEMA running it?

The warmist cult rides on

As always the lazy news media—which includes the Wall Street Journal’s reporting—only read the summaries of big reports like the latest one by the dictators club reaffirming that global warming is  still, wait for it, a crisis.

“BTW, there are a lot of good scientists who work behind the scenes who produce the chapters. The Summaries however are written by the state[s]men, environmentalists and high profile scientists whose reputation and wealth is based on the propagation of the faith.”

So the summaries are models of misinformation.

Nevertheless, the latest cult propanganda will continue to be the spur for the EPA’s War on Coal, hiking electricity prices and stifling the economy and, sooner or later, adding a whopping carbon tax. Unless the dimwits who voted for OButthead in 2012 finally get a clue and turn the Congress over to the Republicans next year. They can’t be any worse.

Obama’s pet news media ignores IRS scandal

“Not only have ABC, CBS and NBC not reported this story they’ve flat out stopped covering the IRS scandal on their evening and morning shows. It’s been 85 days since ABC last touched the story on June 26. NBC hasn’t done a report for 84 days and CBS last mentioned the IRS scandal 56 days ago on July 24.”

Not to mention the “Justice” Department and the FBI. They aren’t investigating.

“This story” was in USA Today ten days ago with this summary lede: “Newly uncovered IRS documents show the agency flagged political groups based on the content of their literature, raising concerns specifically about ‘anti-Obama rhetoric,’ inflammatory language and ’emotional’ statements made by non-profits seeking tax-exempt status.”

Still watching the old network snooze shows? See how ignorant you are? And you thought Watergate was scary.
