Sons of ZZ Top

The popular Duck Dynasty sitcom seems pretty off-the-wall to me, with its four scraggly-bearded “stars” and their otherwise Leave It To Beaver suburban homes, wives and children. Not to mention the family prayers. Yes.

Not that I have anything against prayer or redneck shows on the rube, even when the rednecks are Hollyweirdos only pretending to be rednecks—or, in this case, the likely sons and cousins of ZZ Top—but this one is bizarre. It has the spirit of gun-and-knife fanciers while chasing the peculiar ambiance of Seinfeld.

Very strange this 21st century thus far. But I knew that when Obozo got elected president the second time. On principle, I will resist the temptation to watch DD anywhere but at the link above, or keep up with it at this unofficial blog, and then only seldom.

“So, via an anonymous leak, we are being told that, at a time when Tsarnaev was still in critical condition and unable to speak, investigators interrogated him––just long enough, apparently, to get his assurance that no one else was involved in the plot.

“Having gotten that non-verbal representation, as we are now told by the anonymous spokesman, the administration promptly got Tsarvaev a lawyer and, in effect, told him to shut up….if the Obama administration wants to obstruct the investigation and prevent all of the facts from being known soon, if ever, it is off to an excellent start.”

It’s amazing how hard the secular Left–which has no use for Christianity and barely tolerates Judaism–works to protect Islam.

Sir Winston Churchill? Oh, indeed, if you accept the obvious motivation behind the mass maimings, cripplings, disfigurements and slayings:

Some were frisked, or just interviewed and made to wait outside of their homes until authorities gave the all-clear signal.”

Follow the money trail, please

Haven’t seen or heard of any snooze media story yet on where the Boston Jihadis got their cash, not to mention their explosives and detonators. Such a traditional story, too, as Peggy Noonan makes plain:

“Who or what supported them? They had cellphones, computers, stylish clothes, sunglasses, gym equipment and gym membership, enough money to go out to dinner and have parties. They had an arsenal of guns and money to make bombs. The elder brother, Tamerlan, 26, had no discernible record of employment [but a wife and a child]…The younger brother, Dzhokhar, [19] was a college student, but no word on how he came up with spending money.”

I’m sure the snoozers are feverishly trying to track down the racial/social grievances of the brothers, since they can’t do the Jihadi angle without upsetting their patron King Pinocchio. But the least they could is follow the money trail. Pretty please?

UPDATE:  Well, it seems that the Boston Herald is interested. They found that until 2012 the deceased boxer was on state welfare. Then his Islam-converted wife started working 80 hours a week as a health aide and he was no longer eligible. He stayed home, apparently taking care of their child, unless his in-laws were doing it. That seems to account for some of his money. No word yet on his baby-faced brother.

Wretchard is unusually good today at common sense:

“We focus on things because it is prohibited to focus on people. The TSA looks for things — scissors, liquids, shoes, etc — but it doesn’t stop the underwear bomber. People now want to blame ‘access to guns’ for the Tsarnaevs. But it would be uncouth to ask after what they heard from their imam or their teachers.”

Indeed, and I agree with his conclusion: I won’t hold my breath waiting for our PC strait-jacket to be loosened.

Could the Stupid Party be actually, truly, you know, “investigating” the Benghazi murders?

There’s a new warning from House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) to the legal offices of CIA, Defense and State to start helping their tattling employees lawyer up for anticipated Democrat revenge in public hearings to come. Remains to be seen whether it’s more than hot air.
