Our “white” African American president

The NYTimes, in its elite wisdom, quickly followed by al Reuters and others of the media sheep, broke new journalistic ground in dubbing George Zimmerman a “white” Hispanic, presumably because his father is white.

Thus, I have decided to take a cue from my betters and will henceforth refer to Uncle Barry as a “white” African American because his mother was white.

I suppose I could call him a “white” black, but that would merely be confusing and, besides, despite the fact that black is politically correct, he’s rather obviously more tan than black.

UPDATE:  Although, maybe, I should reconsider. This good example of his laziness (not to mention that of his speechwriters), is an insult to white people.

Behind those gas prices

According to this analysis, the high price of gasoline has more to do with the closing of some East Coast refineries and a glut of pipeline oil in Oklahoma, than Uncle Barry’s refusal to allow increased oil and gas production.

But presidents always get the blame for things like high gas prices, whether they deserve it or not. In this case, I think he deserves it. And they usually don’t get re-elected. Whether it will stop the re-election of the first “white” African-American president, however, remains to be seen.

That’s the Democrat Party’s favorite political theme: racism then, now and forever.

“Black teenagers today are afraid of other black teenagers, not whites. So the idea that Trayvon Martin is today’s Emmett Till, as the Rev. Jackson has said, suggests nothing less than a stubborn nostalgia for America’s racist past.”

The Democrats certainly had plenty of experience with racism, being the party of Bull Connors, the White Citizens Councils, and the KKK. Gets pretty ironic, therefore, when they claim to be saving black people from those “far-right” Republicans. The, uh, party of Abraham Lincoln and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

But, hey, the Dumbocrats got to find some way to keep black people on the welfare plantation loyal to the party what brung ’em.

So, when it came to the sad Trayvon Martin imbroglio, in their haste to toe the party line, the genuflecting Democrat news media made so many errors (from the intentional to the just plain stupid), that you can’t help but wonder if everything you think you know about the case is really just media BS?

I always found Mike Wallace annoying, even when I agreed with what he was doing, which wasn’t often. I disliked his holier-than-thou attitude, which was pretty endemic at CBS News (Dan Rather, for instance) when I was coming up in the biz.

So it was a delight for me, way back in 1981, to see proof that Wallace (who died yesterday at age 93) shared more than a little of the racial attitude of another, far less-praised Wallace named George.
