It’s funny. This is one of those Roberta Vasquez moments. I hardly know who Miles Austin is. Okay, he plays for the Dallas Cowboys. But his girlfriend? Beats me.  Yet, today alone, “Miles Austin girlfriend” has brought me 45 visitors.

I’m sure they leave disappointed. There is no picture of his girlfriend here. There is a picture of former Longhorns football star Aaron Ross’s girlfriend, track star Sanya Richards. So when folks Google for a picture of Austin’s elusive squeeze, right there in the No. 5 slot is my picture of Sanya. Heh.

Good for you, cornerback Aaron Ross, former Texas Longhorn on the 2005 National Championship team’s win in the Rose Bowl, now a Super Bowl champ in his first, rookie season in the National Football League. You started most of the season, even played with a dislocated shoulder against the Cowboys, and were a first-teamer against the Patriots last night. Congratulations.

Aaron to join Vince?

Maybe, according to the Statesman’s sportswriter Kirk Bohls. The Titans need to replace Pacman Jones. But the Bears might draft Ross if Tennessee doesn’t. Either way, Aaron will still be bringing water to Sanya.

Aaron Ross’s girlfriend

Texas Longhorns star cornerback Aaron Ross, who picked off the Sooners a record three times in  last week’s fourth quarter, hits a lot harder but can’t run as fast as his girlfriend. That would be beauty Sanya Richards, an Olympic gold medalist, according to the Austin American-Statesman’s sportswriter Suzanne Haliburton. Nice to see that Ross, an all-around nice guy and one athlete whose name doesn’t appear on police blotters, is doing so well off as well as on the field.

UPDATE: Then, in 2008, Sanya competed in the Olympics in China, and seems to be doing well.
